There are many incredible moments in Caballé's carreer, but this one is not too well known, but this Liu in Colon, was unsurpassed and that opera house at that time, was full of people that knew what they were listening to. For me the best Liu ever. One of the greatest ammong the greatest, a display of technical skills rarely found, obviously not today jajaja. Que viva la Caballé y gracias a Lohengrin por estos audios❤

Had a privilege to make two gala's of Montsi and her daughter back into the 90s. Mdme Caballe was the last of the greatest Divas ever walked among us.

I was at the Liceu today-played this rather loudly in the ticket office. Nobody knew it was Caballe! So I went around to the other side where they have the entrance to the Conservatory. Some cute kids were going in and out, no clue about Caballe. I was heartbroken- shame on the management of this theatre! There should be required education about her for all students and employees.

You know something? You don't have to be sad. It is the time we are living today. Callas, Caballé and others at that time, had a huge respect for the ones before. But today nobody cares about that. The conductor didn't like her in rehearsals because she took too many liberties with the tempi and he wanted a substitute brought in. The ovation is richly deserved.

I am hoping you read this comment-I will be in Barcelona soon -is there a public memorial to Montse that I can visit? Is it possible to get inside the Lyciu? I want to honor her in my own way.

There isn't memorial of Caballé. You can visit her grave in San Andrés cemetery. The Liceu can be entered by buying a ticket for a performance or buying a ticket for a guided tour
