Long Island Lutheran Crusaders from New York and rated number #9 in the country. Was blown out by Montverde by 37 points. It is a testament to great coaching, and it's players. Montverde has become the best high school basketball program in the nation. Year after year they find themselves always in the top 5, and battling for national titles. Impressive!

@@moejoe1451 Agreed! This year's team has done something that no previous Montverde team has ever done...They are all A+ students. Most of the players have made cum laude, and magna cum laude. That in itself is very impressive, and goes to the character and commitment of this year's team on and off the court. Montverde is an international school that has students from every country around the world. Their soccer team has also won national titles and boasted an unreal undefeated stretch dating 5 years without a loss. Many of this years soccer players come from African and Latin nations from around the world. There is a tradition at Montverde where every nations flag is flown and carried by students who represents those countries. The school looks like a college campus, and has housing dorms for students. It is a school most parents would dream of bringing their kids to. The education is top notch and very demanding. I hope this answers some questions you might have had about this great institution. Scottie Barnes transferring to Montverde was like when Kevin Durant signed with Golden State. It was all over in that moment. Too many superstars to deal with at the high school level. Plus they love playing together and play hard. Almost invincible I think. It's boring to watch them though LOL...whenever they play on the road, look at the empty stands by halftime hahaha.....I would love to see them at least tested, but the other top teams had guys sitting out with transfers, injuries, all that stuff. It's February and The Patrick School still hasn't played a game with their 6 high major D1 players in uniform and actually playing. IMG super star left school, etc....even if every other team was at full strength, Montverde is likely 10 point better. Amazing team.

Mont Verde is good, but NEVER have I seen a better high school basketball team than the 2016, California, Open Division champion: Chino Hills team. That team had Lonzo, Liangello and Lamelo Ball. I've never seen so many slam dunks look so easy. By this final point in the season they were so primed that they were just having fun. Very fun team to watch!
