I just found this video, and I thought it would be fitting to tell you all something about my life. In my country it is currently 01:51 AM at the time of writing this comment, and I have been working on my book this entire day. Only one year ago did I learn of the amazing Monty Oum through his incredible creation RWBY, and ever since he has been my inspiration. At the time I learned of him he was already dead, but looking at all the things he made, hearing about what kind of person he was... it simply amazed me. Learning how he was always trying to be so efficient, always attempting to achieve the most in life, it made me realize how I had lived until then. Lazy, aimless, and entirely without consideration for how short a life truly is. Especially with how quickly and unexpectedly it can be taken away from you... Something Monty himself is, sadly, an example of. I turned my life around completely. Now every detail of every day is structured and planned for, sleep is something that no longer get's in my way, and I always, *always*, work. I will not spend my life procrastinating, letting it slip away from me faster than I can catch it. I may occasionally use some down-time, but I no longer waste hours of my days achieving nothing. Thank you Monty, for not only making me see the light, but provide me with the relaxed attitude to receive it. Thank you dearly.

@neopolly7619 жыл бұрын
It just baffles me how insightful of an outlook on life he had. Nearly every single person I know views life as a dragging task that ends when we eventually die, but Monty was different. He viewed every single project, every single moment, as an opportunity to improve and have fun. The very work that most people complain about and beg for a break from, Monty viewed as another chance to have fun. Even on vacation, he took his work with him, because to him work wasn't dreadful. When you never hear Burnie once say "get back to work", you know he had a career ethic like no other.

My favorite Monty Quote he told me at a Sushi Restaurant in Austin is, "If you can match my resolve, You'll certainly succeed in what you're doing." If you think that's fake I won't it gave me the resolve to keep on working on animation and he told me he almost gave up but, he thought about making Haloid and look where he's at now, then he proceeded to Dead Fantasy then to RvB then to RWBY! His memory will live on, if we all remember his resolve. If this helped any of you who are in a tough spot just remember the best don't always win they go through a cycle of failure and successes! and remember to, "Keep Moving Forward" - Monty Oum

This was a one of a kind person. It frustrates me how someone so hard working, so passionate, so real and so kind was taken away when things were finally going amazingly for him. He was an A-type personality cranked up to max and he deserved so much respect for what he did. I honestly think his passing was one of the saddest things I've experienced in reference to a creator since you can tell he still had so much he wanted to do and make people happy while doing it.

This was nice, as someone who started watching RWBY long after Monty died, this was cool to see what he was like. He seemed like a really cool dude and it's good to at least see what he was like and instead of seeing him as this creator who died during volume 2 or around that time. Seeing him more as a hard working, calm, and lemon punching man who was passionate for not only his own work but his fans.

I have now watched this video three times, and every single time I watch this I cry because it feels like he was speaking to all of us individually. Rest in Peace, Monty. We love you.

The best thing is that Rwby is still continuing, and keep his work alive. God this guy is funny. Great tribute by the way.

Beautiful. Painfully hard to watch, opening up old wounds. But beautiful none the less. I try to live each day with the same drive, passion and determination that Monty did in his life. You inspired and will continue to inspire me to pursue my dreams Monty. Thank you. R.I.P
