Monty was one of my friends. Once every few years I pop his name into KZbin to see what's up with his legacy. It would have been amazing to have access to better phone camera's back then to have captured more moments of him. You can see there are hints of his silliness in his outfits. I chatted with him about his choice of wigs and clothing in some of those scenes. A few garments were actually from the female section of H and M if I recall correctly. He said he didn't give a fuck, it fit what he needed and he got it haha. That was him; straight to execution and left the after thoughts in his wake of more action.

I have never animated or even attempted to, but monty has always inspired me to not necessarily do better at what I'm doing, but to essentially keep going and get the job done. Whenever I'm at work or in a really tough spot I just think "what would monty do?" And I can't remember the amount of times thats helped me get through the day. In short I guess what I'm trying to say is; he's my hero.

Everytime I stand in the elevator by myself, I contemplate time and time again “am I really fit for this job?” “Do I have the passion for it?” “How am I so sure that this is my dream?” But in the end, it doesn’t matter. Out of all the paths I chose, this was the one. And there will be times where I would doubt myself, but when it comes to it, there’s nothing else I’d rather be. Nothing else gets me in gleeful tears when I watch a great animation. Nothing else compels me to search like I search in animation. No one else inspired me like Monty oum. So do I know this is what I want? No, I’m sure I’m not the only one that feels this way, but the only way to know for sure is moving forward, and if that’s enough to answer the question, then that’s an answer in it of itself.

He's the reason why I feel so reinvigorated to do art again. The limits of time, the intimidation of high standard creatives out there, and emotional doubt really punished my mental cloud on committing to it. But something about Monty's bluntness of just wanting to make cool stuff just put a spark in me. Him being so parsimonious about it is just insanely inspiring. Thanks for giving the world what you had in your heart and mind, Monty. You've touched the hearts of many artists and creators out there and we'll do our part in making sure we keep making stuff and keep moving forward.

I don't think Monty would dislike you, it takes a lot to admit one's own faults, and he also said "im not the best at anything" we all start somewhere :)

Monty was amazing, no questions asked, but please DO NOT neglect your health like he did. It is the most important thing you have besides your family. Work hard at day, sleep well at night, eat healthy, do physical activities so you could work more days in the future cause your preserved health would allow you to do that
