I had thought for the longest time that when Terry Jones pulls off his mustache at 7:10, that that was a planned part of the sketch, but now I see that it was starting to fall off and he just didn’t want to deal with it anymore.

It's always great when they decide they can't be stuffed. The other great example is the merchant banker sketch where John Cleese, after getting progressively more difficult character names over time, had a name plaque on his desk that was an anagram of "merchant banker", glanced at it, realised he couldn't be stuffed and glossed it over saying "I forget my own name at the moment but I _am_ a merchant banker".
