one of the thing I love about eric Idle is that he's the best woman in the group and he doesn't even has to change his voice or wear a wig xD

2:07 "Quite frankly, I'm against people who give vent to their loquacity by extraneous bombastic circumlocution". Loquacity: the quality of talking a great deal; talkativeness. Circumlocution: the use of many words where fewer would do, especially in a deliberate attempt to be vague or evasive.
@FSMonster7 жыл бұрын
You explained that in a very *roundabout* way.

In layman's terms: People who use inflated language that means nothing at all to satisfy their inability to shut the fuck up. Ironic in this sketch of course.

This sketch is so strange. It borders on uncomfortable at times and doesn't quite flow as well as the 'classic' sketches - but Palin's waiter and Eric Idle's outburst of 'Rhythm Method' at the end get me every time! It's like a lesser known Python gem.

Yeah, it's a lot of vinetted smaller ideas that would normally be a whole sketch on their own but they jammed them all together with nice results.

This just made me want to go watch Flying Circus. Something fabulous about the word-smithing, the deadpan presentation of surrealism, the whole thing.

It's really funny how Idle's woman in this sketch is basically like every single KZbin commenter; she always complains about everything and then randomly switches to talking about a facet of her life that nobody cares about. Yes, I'm aware of the irony that I myself am a KZbin commenter, but if there's one thing I've learned from the Chaps, it's that life is absurd, and the best response is to go with it and find reasons to make yourself laugh.
@HAISPAM8 жыл бұрын
She's ending each of her diatribes with a crack about how she has the possibility of bearing children, which I always interpreted as somewhat threatening. "As nasty as this person is, what's worse is that she can make MORE."
@cmolodiets7 жыл бұрын
that was actually an extraneous bombastic comment on a pretty absurd sketch. When i was a child I attended a birthday party where a real private clown was invited.Nobody laughed. The clown was embarassed and the host furious
