Overall, the NPS has done a fantastic job of restoring this area of the battlefield. I loved the old Rosensteel building but never liked the Cyclorama building. The new visitor center does a much better job of displaying the cyclorama painting than the old building. I will say that it is far easier to view and interpret the battlefield today than it was when I first visited in 1963.

A very important NMP that needs restoration is the Chancellorsville NMP. For example, the many acres of the Hazel Grove farm, where severe fighting occurred on 2 May 1863, were sold to a resort. In another location, Union trenches, protecting Fairview, where Union artillery was posted, were obliterated.

I never had the chance to visit the old visitors center and I'm a bit confused about it's precise location. Can someone explain to me where it was in relation to certain monuments perhaps?

I'm not a fan of the restoration of the 1921 stone gate. It seems strange to me to build a blocked entrance. I think it's confusing to visitors who have to do a double take when they see the parking lot and go to turn into that entrance and then see the stone blocks in their way.

You didnt mention anything about the uniqueness of the two Eagles on the stone pillars.

I am so sick of youtube's ads interrupting every video that I want to watch. I'd love to see ADHS videos somewhere else. I'm not interested in this kind of stuff. I'm done.
