I read middle of the night last week and it is absolutely not a thriller. Nothing about it is thrilling. However, I did love it!. It was more of a mystery and getting invested in the characters is essential to caring about how the story progresses, so if you don’t care about the characters you will probably not enjoy the rest of the book. There’s a reveal later in the book that I didn’t expect and it tugged on my heart and I actually teared up at the ending.

I’m so glad you feel the same way about Lucy Foley’s books. I always felt like I was crazy because everybody loves her books! I started with the Guest List and loved it then read the Hunting Party and realized it was literally the same book??? I was going to give her a 3rd chance with Midnight Feast but you just validated everything I feel for her books!!

I gotta tell you my 5 year old surprised me more than a couple times with the knowledge she would throw out. Lol kids put things into a totally different perspective and sometimes it really clears things up for you. That being said, sometimes authors do really have the kids saying or doing stuff where I’m like…that kid would never even know what that means. 😂 Awesome video as always Des!

I’m going to my first ever author talk and it’s Ali hazelwood and Julie Soto. I’m so excited and very nervous! I saw there’s a ballet dancer romance called Spiral by Bal Khabar. I’ve never read anything by this author but I always wanted to do ballet when I was younger and can’t wait to read the book. A novel love story is one of my most anticipated releases and I’m nervous to start it but i loved both of her other books so I have high hopes. Thank you for a great video. Sending love 💖
