I am so sorry you have experienced that with your Grandmother's. My mother is dealing with that with my stepfather. He has Alzheimer's and Dementia and Louie Body and my mother solely takes care of him at home. My mom has talked about the mood swings. We went to their house in December and they came to our place for Christmas this year. I feel for both of them. It is awesome that you got the Abby Jimenez book early! ❤❤❤

I’m sorry that has happened to your stepdad and family - Your mum is handling a lot, what a strong and loving woman she is

@@ChanelChapters Thank you so much, yes she is a strong lady. I don't know how she does it. He also was recently diagnosed with Parkinson's also and the Louis Body goes along with that. I just forgot to mention that bit. He moves extremely slowly and has fallen down a lot. He is only in his late 60's. It is so sad. My mom has been married to him for about 36 years.

Thank you for your vulnerability sharing the story about your grandma, Chanel! I’m so sorry you’ve gone through that with multiple family members, I can’t imagine how traumatic that is. Sending you hugs💖 Isn’t it amazing how literature can make us reflect our own lives and feel so deeply?

Oof. 'Summer holidays' 'I hope to get to the beach' -- looking out of the window, dark at 5pm, snowing and sub zero temperatures in England, post Christmas depression settling in. Think I need to select some cosy comfort reading books and escapism

I was so worried that you were going to be excited for "Say You'll Remember Me" and then it was going to suck lol. What a powerful story you shared as well. Stuff like that is exactly why I refuse to turn my nose up at any book just because its not marketed as high literature.
@ChanelChapters24 күн бұрын
Exactly what you said - not every book needs to be “great literature” to move you or resonate

Ahhhhh Chanel you got the new Abby Jimenez book early!! I’m soooo jealous but I’m so glad you loved it 😍 I’m so much more excited to read it now after your review! Although you did make me cry during that section…my grandmother just passed last month (different reasons to yours) but you got me tearing up I will keep my eye out for you for special editions of it! I saw them for the Part of Your World series but I think they were in the US so I never looked into them too much, I’ll see if I can remember which company did them, maybe they’ll do a special edition for this book too

I've been meaning to ask you whenever you do tarot picking reads, how are you setting a prompt to a card? Are you using someone's prompt list? Did you make your own? Also I'm super curious on how many decks you own because its always different when I see a new video lol
@ChanelChapters25 күн бұрын
Some prompts were from the tarot readathon and some prompts are my own

I started the year off with the worst book I've read since october 3023, it was Skadi Goddess of Winter's Hunt by Skye Hellviolet, think The Wild Huntress in a Nordic setting but repetitive and written by someone with no imagination and who never read the myths. Im rading Cleat Cute by Maryl Wilsner which has a cartoon cover that I like, really liking the characters and romance but the first spicy scene waan't great but hopelully that will improve. I spent my late teens and early twentys taking care of elderly relatives. They were seriously mentally diminised but didn't quite lose everything, so I know how that is.
@ChanelChapters25 күн бұрын
Oh nooooo Hopefully cleat cute ends up being a good read Whether or not they realised, the care you gave to your family members was a massive act of love and you are a wonderful person for looking after them

I was really sad about Maeve Fly because I read American Rapture last year (twice) and absolutely adored it. I thought Maeve Fly would be great based on that, but I DNF'd it 57% in. Maeve is so fucking boring and annoying lol
@ChanelChapters25 күн бұрын
@@paigem7048 she is not a likeable main character - very “I’m not like other girls” and I didn’t like a lot of the stuff she did And I agree, American rapture was farrrr better
@rorororos25 күн бұрын
I read meave fly back in the beginning of 2024 and honestly i didnt like it, i liked the beginning but the “dark romance” blindsided me i didnt like it at alll 🫣🫣 for the reason u mentioned of her violence but also because it just felt meh and pushed upon you i think she wouldve been an infinitely more interesting character if we wouldve followed her romance-less but i digress anyways i gave it 1 star. Im intrigued to read american rapture because of ur review tho
@ChanelChapters25 күн бұрын
Yeah I def prefer American rapture horror over maeve - the main character is actually a good person and you want her to succeed - the rap/ey zombies are a bit much though
