This song makes tears swell up in my eyes. My wonderful wife, the woman who gave me the will to go through life, in spite of my physical pain from military service, is still with me in the flesh. But this Angel, now exhibits serious early onset dementia in the areas of: language, judgement, memory, and personality. She does not deserve such a cruel ravaging brain disease! Her behavior is more and more like that of an 11 year old or even a 5 year old child. Its often very difficult and frustrating being with her. But, her most satisfactory fulfilments in the past, as my woman in all her capacities, deserves my future service to her.

Since I have studied for decades and few people on this Earth know about the existence of the most ancient manuscripts - I will share part of this Knowledge of Emeth that I have been so blessed to study. I Know they will still be making beautiful music in The World to Come - Music is huge and so loved there - in the Heavenly Realms according to ancient manuscripts which are Billions of years old and predate all man-made belief systems/religions. There is no such thing as "religion" in the Heavenly Realms - All - Myriads of Celestial Beings from the Angelic Orders to so many more - Do not "believe" - they simply KNOW of the Knowledge of Emeth (Truth) - it is a simple KNOWING/UNDERSTANDING of and DEEPLY PROFOUND REVERENCE for EMETH - and they simply call it EMETH. Seek Chadosh Eashoa Yeshua Emmanuel Christ Moshiach Vau Emeth (Truth) and you will find too and you will understand where we are going soon enough. It's such an Amazing Wondrous World to Come - The Holy (Celestial, Divine, Eternal) Kingdom of Worlds inside of which is Our New Home - Our New Earth - Chadosh Malkhuto Binah - for All who are of KIND HEART! Forever Stand Firm in The Light of Truth - Emeth 💖

First heard this soulful and poignant masterpiece on the way to my college orientation weekend for the first time, in the backseat of my folk's car, a young 17 years old. It seemed even then to be prescient, capturing the melancholy and hope I was feeling all in one place, and I really listened intently. I actually remember thinking, at that moment, the lyrics were good advice and would probably be prescient. I'd never been away for more than a weekend, never to camp, not successful at attempts at team sports, so not very socialized among peers. As much as I wanted to take off and "fly," I knew there were serious confidence challenges in me and out there facing me, including b/c of the sometimes traumatic way I was raised. I knew it would be a struggle for a long time, and it was -- though in many ways 35 years later, a lot has been overcome and there have been some notable successes. BUT, always a struggle, large and small, with every situation and relationship. Again, it felt like the song recognized this and provided much-needed encouragement. It still speaks to me powerfully, in both recognition and in hope. Thank you Moody Blues!

Great song. As a Christian I feel a whole range of emotions and the lyrics can relate to my beliefs; the "voice within" could be the Holy Spirit that guides us, every rising sun is another chance to change for the better, learning the "Golden Rule" etc. But ANYONE can relate to enduring the 'storms' of life, and facing the future, with "your back up against the past." Can we just agree it is a great song with wonderful music and lyrics? And like every song, the meaning is different to each person.

One of a few songs that takes me back with startling specificity to a dusty time and place that otherwise may have only remained a progressively vague memory. I was 12 years old in '81, and was finally able to break ranks with my broken home and begin brand new critical explorations that come only with 'unsupervised' evening outings and friends. It's been so long I've all but forgotten the emotions and discoveries that came along this wonderful path known as adolescence. Thanks to MB I can really "FEEL IT again" & I love 'em for that.

I heard this song on the way back from a family trip to Colorado prior to HS. At the time, I didn't know the artist or title, but that was the last I heard the song until nearly graduating from HS. I couldn't describe it to anybody who knew and was afraid I was never going to hear it again. I had always remembered hearing the song for the first time while on the way home from the hospital after breaking my leg, which I had long-thought was 1980. I heard the song in a video back in 1993, and soon after, I discovered it was released in 1981 which meant I either broke my leg a year later or my memory was faulty. Than just last week, I discovered an old statement from the hospital showing my admittance date was 18 July 1981 and my discharge date was 20 July. The voice was released as a single on 22 July, which would have been 2 days too late however, it was released on an album on 15 May and my father listened to an album rock station at the time, thus I'm sure they knew it would soon be released as a single. There's also a possibility it could have played on the way home after I got my cast took off, but I don't think so. But if so, the song peaked on 15 August, which would have been very close. It was certainly peaking during the period. And though I love the song, It's so strange that it became the definitive song that takes me back to that incident. I was only 4 years old.

Yet another great song from Justin & Co. that doesn't offend. This song continually haunts my sub conscience...and has for years since it came out. Lodge and Edge keep up just fine and have been at it too, for some time. These are very seasoned musicians here. You can't put a finger on them. First instinct is to compare. But they don't sound like anybody else. One's mind might drift towards Tull, Crimson, Zeppelin, Queen, and dozens of other bands. They are unique and have what every band strives to achieve: their OWN sound.

All the great bands are unique. There's an elegance and effortlessness in the music and the melody in Moody Blues songs that makes them so special. The songs just seem to shimmer and mystically hover in the ether.

I thought I was the only one whose subconscious is haunted by this song. I think it's the innocence and passion inherent in both the music and lyrics. You must be over the age of 55. I think that generation is the last to have those together before the world became irrevocably jaded.

Awesome group! These lyrics and the arrangement remind me of something that could be sung by E.L.O. (another totally awesome group)!

Without a doubt my favorite Moody Blues gig. I loved some of their other stuff too... but none of those other songs ever came up to this for me. (And a fantastic video! Thank you!)

This came out near the end of my senior year in high school and has remained one of my Top 5s ever since. It's beautiful, haunting, thought provoking and way more.
