I SO AGREE! I have NEVER liked words on things. I don't need to know what season it is. I don't like generi, mass produced items-- which is why I've always loved antiques and primitive items. NEON FALL COLORS is trying too hard. Where did subtlety go? Muted fall colors are cozier. Simple materials, natural elements and moody lighting-- all of it says it's a gathering in time. Time to reflect, to feel melancholy. Time to reminisce and make more memories. And yes, to come in with the blustry wind in our hair and clothes.

I was just telling my husband yesterday how sick I was of the subway art, Cricut vinyl word cutouts, pumpkins, farm trucks, and fake "farmhouse" decor. I wanted to find some autumnal looking stuff that didn't overtly scream "fall", but that could blend in with my every day decor in the off season. I shopped my house first, then went thrifting. Shopping with that look in mind, I finally found SO MUCH STUFF at goodwill that everyone else was looking over! I didn't realize I wasn't the only one who felt this way- moodiness was exactly what I was going for. KZbin suggested this video so that's why I'm here- you nailed it!
