Can you use this machine alone and use it with a midi controller keyboard and still get nice rhythm sounds without hooking it up to a daw or any other type of hardware? I'm interested in purchasing something that is a stand alone sequencer/drum machine where I can have drum and bass sequences in it, but without using extra hardware or software.

@@AntonAnru I have another question. If I use this with a midi controller keyboard, would I be able to change chords with it? Thinking in terms of playing a whole song with this being an accompaniment instrument and changing keys to a song.
@AntonAnru
@AntonAnru 2 жыл бұрын
DFAM doesn't have MIDI, you may send cv/gate only, that only a few keyboards have, e.g. keystep. But anyway, i think DFAM is not a thing that should be played with keyboard

Yes, I just sent the clock from Ableton to clock input. You may sync it with other synths as well that have clock output, like mother 32

@AntonAnru
@AntonAnru 3 жыл бұрын
Thank you for the feedback. For syncing I used Ableton live cv tools, end sent clock via output of the audio interface to dfam clock/adv input. If elektron has non-midi, analog clock out, it should work as well
@tombar2700
@tombar2700 Жыл бұрын
In my opinion Best way to sync dfam is trigger output from tr8s connected to dfams advance input and syncing tr8s to ableton if you want ... you can then enjoy the swing or shuffle whatever you want to call it on dfam😉 there is not many things that will let you do shuffled pattern instead of the rigid patterns from basic dfam's sequencer... Good patches Anton 👏
