For those that are confused by this… It’s got more of the ‘modular’ flavor. The sequencer is a shift register/turing machine style not the typical ‘enter a note/gate and it will playback’ type. If you don’t understand eurorack or don’t want to them this isn’t for you. It’s interesting and very usable, if you know what you’re doing with generative sequencers.

Great video! It explains a few questions I had, especially the drone patch. A friend tried recreating the Labyrinth with VCV rack modules. He said it would cost quite a bit more to duplicate one in Eurorack. It would be REALLY great to have external CV control of the SEQ1 CV Range. You could then "play" the sequencer with a keyboard and have the notes stay relevant, more so than just changing the root note of the sequence.

Nicely done. Thank you. I was intrigued from the first leak, and will be getting one sooner than later, but I can't help but feel there was a "missed opportunity" that would have given it seriously expanded functionality/appeal, and Moog (in general) a PR boost, by making it uniquely 'topical' amongst the eurorack crowd. Namely, having included a 16-pin ribbon cable adapter on the back, to facilitate connecting the ubiquitous Turing Machine's Pulses, Voltages, and Volts expanders.

Just received mine today. The machine is very exciting. It gives you lots possibilities to shape the sound. The one thing I canºt understand is "why they didnºt use the famous ledder filter but instead this new one" The filter in Labyrinth doesnºt have that Moog juiciness. Doesnºt have that 3d sound like in dfam. If in DFAM when i close the filter the sound gets better and better , in the new one itºs only getting worse. Itºs quite flat. Resonance is weak and doesnºt tickle ears. Other than that the box is fantastic so far.

If what you want is a generative MIDI sequencer, it would be better to go with a Torso T-1 or Oxi One. Both cost about the same as the Labyrinth and can do what Labyrinth's sequencer can and much, much more. Longer patterns that you can save, song mode, the ability to control many synths at once, etc. The Oxi One has a few different generative modes, and it lets you have four of them running simultaneously. Loopop has done videos on both of those, but they're both out of date since he had prototypes and the firmware for the T-1 and especially the One have been upgraded significantly since then.

@loopop5 ай бұрын
I discuss this issue in the oscillator/mixer section of the video - it's not that MOD VCO is normalled to VCO 1, is that beyond 11 o clock either one and certainly both start to distort each other, making it sound like a cross mod (just like if you were to drive both through a distortion pedal). If you want to hear both cleanly, keep their levels very low
