hainbach is overrated. He is good at what he does, but that's nothing Loopop can do and I'm sure he can do it million times better! Just a fact! Take a tape delay, generate some noise, record it on tape together with some clever chords, play it back, use reverb, play it at slow speed, and then move your hands like a "spiritual healer" and act like you're making contact with some holy ghosts. That's hainbach. haha Sounds stupid,. but that is the hard truth. Everyone can do what he does. But can everyone create music like Aphex Twin or Philip Glass? Like Hans Zimmer? Like Ennio Morricone?? Of COURSE NOT.

Any ideas on how to pan the oscillators left and right? I mean, imagine all this Moog goodness coming at you from both sides, stereo chords and stereo sequences, three oscillators in every ear… It has separate audio outputs from oscillators, but they would bypass VCA, right? So need external dual VCA module, and also a way to bring it all to line level… Am I thinking right?

So comprehensive, clear - I love the 'menu' on the left, not for seeing what comes next but for reviewing what has been covered and have a clearer image in my mind, actually remember better :)) New sub here! Great work!! (am a noob to electronic music & devices, I'm a classically trained musician & pianist, looking to delve into electronic music which I love. The hardware part is quite... overwhelming heh - in the sense that there are SO many of them and they do suuuch different things from each other... choosing just one or two seems painful hahah. I'd love having just instruments and hands-on everything, but sadly their virtual counterparts are way more cost-effective for now. Still, I'd love to get started with a physical synth, to connect to the digital piano I'm planning on getting asap. Or maybe I should get an iPad and connect that to the piano, as I could have multiple synths there... ooof)

Loopop. I am after some advice. I have the subharmonicon (great unit from moog), I have the sub37 too. And I have the Arturia Drumbrute. They all actually complement each other well. I have been trying to get Oscillator one to be triggered by the drumbrute clock out. This is no problem when place Drumbrute clock out into the 'play' in of the subharmonicon. But, I am trying to isolate oscillator one from Oscillator two, and have the sub 37 trigger just Oscillator two by midi out of the sub 37. The sub 37 is duophonic but, if it can be done, there is the possibility of playing the subharmonicon as a sequencer triggered by the drumbrute, and have pad like paraphony played on oscillator two in conjunction with the sub 37's own oscillators. I have been able to have 9 oscillators on the go using the sub 37 to trigger all oscillators of the subharmonicon together with the sub 37's two oscillators and sub oscillator. I just don't know what to try to be able to split the two oscillators and trigger them independently using outboard kit. thoughts? I understand we are all hoping for a firmware update to the subharmonicon for duophonic upgrade but till then, is there a way it can be done? Stay good.

One patch I'm having a lot of fun with is taking the pitch from my mother 32, splitting it at the mult, then into the Sub's VCO 1 and VCO 2. Now my Mother 32 is sequencing my SubH. The mother 32 sounded fat on it's own, but when you add subharmonics to it, omg

Very thorough and concise demo of this unit. Nice job. However, one thing you did not mention is possibly using just the filters with other instruments, such as a guitar with a distortion pedal. I'll bet a thousand other guitarists watched this video and thought the same thing as well. So how would that be done exactly with this unit ? Would a CV controller pedal be needed.. OR would it be possible to just plug in directly ?
@loopop2 ай бұрын
Thanks! and my bad for ignoring guitarists! However, the charm of this instrument is the oscillators and sequencer, and just patching audio into the filter would kind of be a waste of everything else here (or just overspending)
@ShadovvV2 ай бұрын
@@loopop - I think I just realized that, since there doesn't seem to be any type of LFO or envelope filter controls on the Subharmonicon.. which would make it rather pointless for guitar, except for maybe the HP filter? Actually, I'm not even sure if the sweepable VCO and Sub controls would be usable as a Q effect for a guitar. Is that even possible? lol

Hi, your video is very instructive. I have 2 questions : 1) how did you add the spectral analyser windows onto your video ? they are really helpful to understand how the system behave ( as an exemple : the resonance knob in the end looks like an active band-pass filter (with the Q point (or bandwith) rather sharp) 2) how do you add the chaptering on the video buffer ? it's rather helpful to keep up where we left the video or if we want a specific chapter when we don't 30 minutes straight to watch a video (hence a lot of youtubers do a lot of 5-10 min content because they know that people will be more incline to watch them) the youtube interface is rather clumsy so it's cool to see "new" ways to present a video.

Huh. 8-ET mode quantizes *post* freq knob? Does that mean you can *only* play the C-major/A-minor scale in 8-ET mode? I would expect that it would be quantizing post-sequencer/pre-freq knob, which would allow you to tune to a root note of a scale. This seems like an even more troublesome situation with the just intonation modes, since you always want to be playing in a just intonation tuning that matches your key, no?
