Love these videos and your presentation. The Matriarch is such a beautiful instrument. Every time I find myself in a stale creative state I turn to the Matriarch and just zone out. I’ve owned it for awhile now and I’m still finding new things to do with it. One trick I found with the sequencer (by happy accident) is that with a sequence playing you can press and hold the Ratchet, Tie, or Rest buttons for performance effects, my favorite being the Ratchet (probably not so useful in a slower ambient patch but definitely useful for groove oriented sequences). I don’t think it’s mentioned in the manual. I like to think that it’s such a unique instrument that even the engineers are finding new things to do with it as well.

As a Grandmother owner, I love these Matriarch videos so much and can only hope to own one soon to complete my collection. Just kidding, it’ll never be complete.

Great stuff. Thanks. A marvellous instrument. Pity about its cheap sharp edged plastic end cheeks. Any way to change them for nice wood?

I have a Matriarch. I have a hard time wanting to use any other synth, software or even my other hardware synths, since I received it. I have a Korg monologue XD which I also love but everything about the Matriarch feels like an extension of me

I was saving for a Summit and almost there, but thanks to you sir and your videos, I'm now 90% geared towards a Matriarch. Moog should pay you or something. Sadly the Matriarch is a bit more expensive than the Summit in my country. And I'll go with 4 voices instead of 16. But DAMNNNN how it sounds!
@JamesonNathanJones2 жыл бұрын
I can honestly say it’s one of my favorite purchases. It’s definitely a different animal than the Summit, but I can’t seem to stop playing it. Maybe a Matriarch then a Peak down the road ;)

I have to think twice about switching on the power to my modular, time just slips away, as I ask myself what would happen if I modulated that filter FM now with this LFO (*number 8)? And on and on. Fun video I kept laughing.

Amazing tutorial as always, really digging these more in-depth tutorials, really great results too. One question though, would you care to share how did you got those distorted, lead-type sounds off of your track Dismember? Thanks alot!
@JamesonNathanJones2 жыл бұрын
Thanks! Ooh throwback…. If I remember correctly, the distorted rhythmic sequence is from the e352 wavetable oscillator on that track. It’s one of my favorite uses for that module.
@mrazomor92992 жыл бұрын
@@JamesonNathanJones Thanks! I'll look into that module, that track and album as a whole give such a Trent Reznor/Atticuss Ross score vibe.
@BlackMan6142 жыл бұрын
Having a hard time choosing between the Pro3 and Matriarch. I have an extensive modular setup so its not like I need more patch points but they seem to both have intuitive sequencers and... oh, I know. I need you to do a Pro-3 vs Matriarch video!

@RobertMatichak2 жыл бұрын
Question: Why did you use an LFO to control the seq rate instead of just using the seq rate itself? Thx great vid.
@RobertMatichak2 жыл бұрын
Is it because it’s Generative patch?
@JamesonNathanJones2 жыл бұрын
Yes, just using the lfo to add to the randomness of the patch and allow the rate to change over time on its own.

sorry but the pics aren't helping cables in the way to see setting it would be better to use a blank patch pdf
