I love that you can tell that Nick is having a hard time reviewing the synth because he's enjoying playing it so much. Thanks, this inspired me to get a Matriarch.
@pippzzz2 жыл бұрын
You're exactly on point! The Matriarch is so complex and so simple at the same time...I won't get tired tired of playing with it any time soon, every time you go for a discovery, you learn something. Moog really nailed something with that one, semi-modular and paraphony really found a true meaning here. This is a really enjoyable synth to play, and it fits so well into whatever setup you're integrating it into.. I love mine!
@dep10014 жыл бұрын
I think this and the Grandmother are the best synths Moog has released in years! Just back to basics, great sounding analog synths! I went for the GM, does all I need! Love it! And that spring-reverb sounds so good and is a cool feature. Future classics thats for sure!
@hipsterscout14 жыл бұрын
I do agree that these two are some amazing must have synths that will probably be heard on a lot of mordern classic recordings, but i think something like the subharmonicon deserves to be in that discussion. On of if not the most initiative things moog have made in decades imo. Nothing wrong with a back to basics performance bassed synth but i cant think of too many standalone unites that can do what the submarmonicon can do while still having that classic moog sound.

Agree with MysecretMachines comment below. I'm glad Moog took a step back to roots with the design . The basic tone is phenomenal . I hope moog continue to build on their legacy of this greatness.
@fortheloveofnoise4 жыл бұрын
I think getting the basic tone pleasing is the most important step. I have some synths that are overly complex....but the ones I always wind up playing are the straight foward ones that just sound great out the gate. I think this synth is a winner for sure.At first I wasn't too big a fan but it has definitely grown on me.
@AdamTheAd-vanc3d4 жыл бұрын

This synth caused me to open a new savings account and start saving for it last year; I've got enough now - but over that year I may have added a few smaller Moog/Arturia/Novation bits and bobs so I'm tight on space! The Matrixbrute and Novation Summit also peak my interest; but man there is just something about the warmth of that Moog sound that brings a smile to my face. I think when we move into a house in a few years it'll be this, then the summit. Of course the dreadbox typhon looks good too. Man; thanks for this!

What would be cool is if Moog got rid of the keyboard to save money and space then sold it as a one-stop intro to modular...call it the Stepmother. Like a new Model 10 for the masses.
