Thanks for the up. I know now that I can delay this purchase. Love the frustrated hand gestures on the uncontrollable drones.

What music production softwares can you export to? (Garageband, Audacity, FL Studio, Logic or Ableton?)
@brandoncline57307 жыл бұрын
André Stovall anything you want. Buy an Irig2 midi and send midi notes from your CPU program/DAW to the moog15 and send the audio from the iPad to your audio input to route through a mixer track. I use fl studio. If you're unfamiliar with MIDI go learn about it.

How does this app compare to the iVCS3? Which one has more features?

How are you recording and connecting it to your midi controller? Also, the sounds we're hearing: is it from the mic or is it the recording in your DAW? Thank you! Seems like an awesome app!
@SteveSteeleSoundSymphony8 жыл бұрын
Jesús Dawaher Bakhos The iPad connects digitally to your interface and into macOS. Your DAW will see it as an input/output device so you can use your regular keyboard to send MIDI while audio is sent back digitally to your DAW. iPad Pro can handle about 10 synths playing at the same time in stereo. Latency is low. Everything works over the Lightening to USB cable. An app like StudioMux is helpful for setting up channels and clock.

I have never been able to get anything with the ribbon. What are you supposed to do with it. I wish someone would explain how to use it. It does nothing at all for me.
@phlattgetit2 жыл бұрын
There are only a couple of presets that have it set up. Otherwise you have to go to the controller module and plug it in. There are two bars, the metallic one and the darker one. You have to run your finger(s) along both to play it. One only controls the signal the other one changes the pitch. If you just run your finger on the silver bar you won't hear anything.

Should I expect an updated video with all the new sound packs?
@TheSoundTestRoom7 жыл бұрын
Zodiac Gallery No, I don't think Moog will give me the packs to demo, although I will ask, if I can find an email for them

Zodiac Gallery Update, yes you can expect a demo of all the new packs, very soon

What’s the best way to connect this to my DAW on Mac please ... anyone ? 🙏🙏
@MyriadDubstep4 жыл бұрын
For using as a controller use USB if you want the sound in your DAW then connect the iPad output to an audio interface or you could run it to a mixer first then the mixer into audio interface. Remember the iPad outputs in stereo

Great Demo Doug. I was thinking of buying a Moog Mother or Minitaur. But I realised my Model 15 beats the both of them!

Can someone kindly explain to me the difference between modular synths and regular synths...The only difference of synths I know of is digital and analog and that one was pretty straight forward "hardware and computer program" I'm new to synthesis self taught and I want to continue this path I love sounds and its diversity Currently have just the auturia mini moog for iPad great app I designed a lot of sounds I just want it to take it to the next steps I was thinking animoog....or maybe this?
@TheSoundTestRoom8 жыл бұрын
The main difference is that with a normal type synth all the wiring is already done for you inside the actual machine or software, with a modular synth, be it hardware or software, the wiring of the various components, like the oscillators, the filters, the envelope generators, fx etc etc is left entirely up to you, so if you have something like Animoog then Moog have decided the routing of all its internal components for you., if however you have the Moog Modular, Moog are leaving all this component wiring or connection to you, giving you almost unlimited control over designing exactly the sound you want with no predisposed template or design limitation imposed by Moog. Sound designers love modular synths, but you do kinda have to have a good knowledge of how this stuff works to get the very best from it.
@astrophonix8 жыл бұрын
The reply from thesoundtestroom is 100% right, but also there are semimodular synths. With a fully modular synth like an analog Moog modular you can change the individual modules, swap them out for other types, but with a semimodular the module types and number of them is fixed. Semimodular synths include the EMS VCS3, Korg MS10 and MS20 and this Moog system 15 virtual modular synth, which does sound awesome for an ipad app.
@TheSoundTestRoom8 жыл бұрын
+astrophonix Ah yeah, semi-modulars are a great place to start, in fact I did a couple of roundup videos for both Modulars and Semi Modular, just search this.. Thesoundtestroom modular synth round up... And thesoundtestroom. semi modular synth round up.. There are more than you may think
@filemakerpro40508 жыл бұрын
Not sure if any replies got it, but the biggest difference in modular is that you are COMPLETING A CIRCUIT by patching CONTROLLED VOLTAGE through a PATH that is MODULATED by various mods or units. Typically 1 Volt =1Octave ... also, some setups are combinations like thesoundtestroom and astrophonix are eluding to - where a keyboard is the trigger that completes the PATH. Triggers and Gates - instigators and passive agressives
@billfusionenterprise7 жыл бұрын
The main point of modular and even semi modular is that you don't have a rigid sound generation path (VCO>VCF>VCA) and allows you to do strange things to generate sound.
@emilshere8 жыл бұрын
Doug have you ever reviewed the other modular synth for iOS? I think it's called just 'modular'. I have it....it's pretty cool simulation what do you think? Is this worth it even if you have modular? You can't remove and swap modules in this can you? Thx
@TheSoundTestRoom8 жыл бұрын
Yeah I have, in fact I did a Modular synth roundup not long ago, just search thesoundtestroom modules synth roundup, I also did a semi modular roundup too, and yeah this is worth getting I think
