1:04 replacing the resistor with a transistor, aka. transresistor. Transistors are often thought of as amplifiers and using a small current to control a big current. What you're really controlling is the collector-emitter resistance :-)

The Moog ladder filter is simply the best sounding, greatest piece of audio engineering equipment ever made. There is so much technology based around this device. Not to mention how much use the filter still receives. Music simply would not be the same without Bob Moog. We are all indebted to him.

+Jones Day what makes it so amazing is that no one else had/has done it the same. it has a very distinct character due to the use of transistors, and because of this it seems so perfect an unique. though there are many filters that I would say sound just as good
