I don't understand how you are achieving stereo from a mono line out. what am I missing?

Both the Mavis and Grandmother outputs are used, and then hard-panned in a mixer to achieve a stereo image.

​@@MoogSynthesizers AH!!! OK.... thanks for clarifying that. So for me to learn/reproduce Max's lesson, assuming it's no different using a M32, I need to make sure one's channel is panned L in the mixer and the other's channel panned R?

Correct. Obviously there are functional differences between Grandmother and Mother-32 that would prevent you from creating an identical patch, but there are still plenty of stereo techniques to explore that are unique to Mavis and Mother-32 as a pair. The fact that Mother-32 offers two points of voltage-controlled mixing means you can achieve some unique tonal morphing in stereo that you can't accomplish with a Grandmother :)
