Mook obviously sees the bigger picture! His insights show that he hasn't forgotten to be a true student of the hip hop art. I'd have to say though,I fully agree with the statement that there are some battlers who have brilliant and praiseworthy punchline setups. Still though,Em might have thinned out on music that's relatable to your average listener,but he's only gotten more lyrical. The struggle is no longer fresh in his mind,so of course your material has to follow suit. Imagine if he'd still been writing about killing his ex and being broke. That shit would be mad corny cause we know he lives in a mansion and Kim ain't around. His best bet was to put his energy into wordplay, metaphors,speed,style change ups,and basically a lyricists-lyricist. Most write him off because he doesn't apply the easier rythm patterns that conform with how the body vibes with it. That distracts the listener to how much creativity was put into the bars and some people miss it and lose interest. Guys like Mook dissect the bars to find more layers within it. That's what I do as well. It may not be your cup of tea but I personally enjoy the complexity of a rhyme.
