Miscommunication in a game like Volleyball is one of the most fatal flaws a team can have. Sadly, my middle-school team was like that and everyone always either hogged the ball or had their legs glued to the ground and let it fall. There was always arguments on who was supposed to save it and who wasn’t. It was one of the reasons why I didn’t continue since those same kids are now in the highschool team and I feel like Asahi: just too ashamed and scared to go back.

The minimum would be that at the same time you sent the ball, he had already jumped. Of course, it depends on the distance between the two players, but this close, a quick pass like that would be a minus tempo.
