Congrats on the new ride. I'm planning to demo a Revo during a demo day. I hear ya about drilling holes in a brand new kayak. I check and measure 10 times before I actually start drilling.

I have a similar setup on my 2019 revo. I stayed with the scotty mounts inside the pockets. I don't like how much pressure gets put on the GearTrac when I troll. It does cut through swells really nice. I'll be at HMB for salmon on Saturday, hopefully i'll get some.

Yes you are right. Downrigger on GearTrac doesn't work very good. Too much pressure. Good luck and be careful out there. I see wind in the forecast.

Hey Moo, just wondering when you had the Revo what length GT90 tracks did you have next to the map pockets? Also, did you install a BerleyPro bumper pro as well as the keel ezy tape and if so would you put the bumper pro over the tape? Thanks

Yes on the gear track. You can see the set up in the video below. kzbin.info/www/bejne/eKbUdZuXgsurqNE I only used keeleazy until it came off then I just put 3 layers of gorilla tape as a keel guard and replace it after every few months.

@@ButeoLineatus It's working pretty good so far and it's been almost a year. I did hear they are not too god on concrete but I'm mostly on sand, dirt and smooth rocks. Yes I would use it again but I might try diy abs pipe keel guard next time.

Hey moo. Im trying to decide where to put my downrigger mount. I was thinking of putting it where you have your mighty mount installed by the port side foot peg. I noticed you have yours inside the pocket. Is that because it's a stronger placement or just closer/more convenient?

It's a good place for Scotty Base mount. Not too far away yet not too close so that it get's in the way too much during re-entry.

It's simply better 😮 j/k 😜. Two reasons. First is portability. Much easier to car top and wheel to launch spots from the car and back. I also don't have a garage so I need to be able to carry it sideways through my condo. Second, Revo is faster/efficient. I'm really looking for more speed but more efficiency. With revo, I can cover more water and/or spend more time on the water, especially when I'm trolling. Outback shines when it comes to better rigging option, standability and better capacity.
