If you wants to the movie or listen to the comment it stated that it needed both mechanical electrical and biological signals not just electrical. Well kind of cheesy it did at least keep with that theme across the board. Overall it was a fun movie if nothing else.

The swarm detects a combination of lifeforms and electronics. If either of the ones doesn't exist, the swarm ignores it. Which is kind of logical, because it means that it only attacks civilized lifeforms (threats). It ignores beings like itself, or simple animals.

@@Dominique_Toretto If a civilization emerges, then whatever is vital for their civilization is something they already have, otherwise it wouldn't have become vital in the first place. But the more I think about it, I can come up with scenarios that would at least make half sense. If an emerging civilization for example happened to be ejected from their solar system in some super rare event, somehow barely survived the coldness of having no sun on their now rogue planet and would then happen to arrive here by freak accident a million years later, they might indeed decide to take over the solar system as their new home system. Actually not the worst plot ever.

This film was supposed to be the *"Independence Day"* for the 21st century - - didn't quite work out like that, did it?

The plot here doesn't make sense much to me. Here's my fictional story of how they could have done better. Humans on a different galaxy Andromeda evolved technologically for a billion of years. Instead of humans creating the AI , the AI can be of alien and unknown origin in the Milkey Way, and humans could have came from the Andromeda Galaxy with the scope of colonizing the Milkey Way. In order to do so, they needed those giant structures with human DNA on it for a long galactic travel. The rogue AI fights the Human colonizers in Milkey way, unknowingly of the danger of a rogue alien AI, and so they didn't have any EMP weapons that will damage the AI and not themselves. Because of this, we can say that humans on Earth, can use a powerful EMP to disable the AI and the moon too, taking both out. The moon will than remain in a elliptical orbit, devastating the planet still, and humans having to deal with that. With time humans will explore the moon and learn the tech. To me this is better because it doesn't go into the typical humans were so advanced that they've killed themselves and we have to learn from their mistake. Instead we can be treated as a third party in the middle of a war between an alien AI and human civilization.

You mean the part where a neckbeard conspiracy theorist proves his theory right, dies a hero, then gets to live with his mom for eternity?

They managed to kill the swarm that tried to end humanity. The swarm was a computer program created by more advanced humans a long time ago, but it had gone rogue. The geek died but his conscience was saved inside the moon

universes most advance civilization which was able to live and build on distant galaxies created the most intelligent AI but failed to kill it with all their tech BUT people of earth were able to kill that AI with just a glorified taser.
