Most craters on the moon have those small mountains inside the large craters, they form because when an asteroid hits the moon it actually liquifies the surface and you get splashback like when you put your finger in a cup of water and pull it up, a drop falls and comes up again, when it comes up again it freezes on the moon and it stays in the shape of small mountains
