just to clarify jake was in this episode i realize steven or marc didn't have a bruise up face thats why his nose was messed up and his accent was different all 3 of them spoke with DR harrow i found out seeing that scene a few times.

@@drewwar9344 Well even in the comic the show is based on there's minimal Moon Knight basically and he's referred like seperate alter of Marc which i don't like and Marc stays in Mr.Knight suit most of that comic and Moon Knight appeared really little in that comic- Jeff Lemire and Greg Smallwood run.

Yeah but on other episodes there are little mentions of the psychological part of him anyways. Ep 2 & 3 are Moon Knight in action and some of the best MK shots. That was enough already. We'll gonna see MK again anyways in the finale. It's all good.

I really think if we had stayed in the room with baby Marc/Steven we would've seen Jake emerge. Steven has no memory of the trauma. I think Jake is a trauma holder as well as a protector of the system. I don't know if Jake doesn't fully front regularly from choice or due to kind of being suppressed. But we've seen or know of him, at least we think, fronting at least 3 different times now. To ask out the girl, to kill those guys, and again with Harrow in this episode. So it seems like he CAN front, maybe just doesn't want to unless he feels he's really needed. For the "light work" he let's Steven/Marc handle it, but when it's the hard stuff that's when he emerges. He also seems to be aware of what's going on when not fronting because he corrected Harrow on the animal. But I guess he would have to be to a certain degree and has probably been close to the front this whole time just in case. Just my thoughts.

Yeah I'm puzzled with the Dad's actions throughout that situation as well. Sure maybe he was in over his head, but still, you would think he would have said something to reign in his wife. What hit me the most is that Marc did show up to her funeral, granted he didn't go in and actually see her in state, but the fact he still showed up tells me that he still had some care for her. All in all this was a very deep episode.

Posted this on someone else’s comment but figured I’d make it its own comment as well: I’m pretty sure that was Jake (the third personality) in the first scene with Harrow, the one that gets sedated. I don’t even know how I didn’t realize how different Oscar Isaac acted from both Marc and Steven. He has like a Brooklyn accent and his eyes and facial/body expressions are very different. He’s also more violent than both of the others as he was gonna stab himself in the eye. I think that Jake is the one who would come in and protect Marc and Steven from the beatings their mom did to them, which would explain why Steven doesn’t remember their mom being abusive. And it would explain why he’s the most violent one

Oscar Isaac’s real brother played one of the alters to show Steven and Marc together hugging etc. This was such a deep twist to put on his origin story as it differs somewhat in the comics. Oscar deserves an Emmy for this! I still wonder if Kang shows up just because of his connection to Egypt in the comics. Feel he’ll be the “Thanos” to show up here and there.

I find it hilarious no one realizes they were looking at Jake while Marc and Steven were first speaking with Taweret, Jake was fighting in the asylum portion with an injured nose. This episode was heartbreaking but Jake had shown up on several times. In episode two he was the one speaking in a slightly different accent than Steven. He was likely the one we saw on the floor when we get our first glimpse of Egypt.

This is exactly what it feels like to someone with a friend with DID, sometimes they get used to an alter and when it goes dormant or integrates with another alter you sorta feel a loss of a friend, but glad they are healing and hopefully become one. The outcome.....who knows.

Jake was in this episode. He was who Harrow was talking to in that first Harrow scene this episode. On the subject of Marc’s mother she seems to have had her own mental illness. Instead of creating an Alter personality because of her trauma like Marc did her own personality just completely changed. The reason the dad stayed with her was likely because he understood that and wanted to help her. Unfortunately he just didn’t know how. I’ve seen something similar happen to a family member due to the trauma of losing a young child. He didn’t become violent, but his personality suffered a severe negative change. Thankfully he did get the help he needed and returned to basically his old self. The wound was and is still there though and he can slip at times, so if he hadn’t gotten the proper help he needed he wouldn’t have ever gotten better.

everytime things went south so bad, the overwhelming pain summoned Steven into body so that feeling could stop. at the memory of their mother's shiva, Steven knew his purpose that was to comfort Marc all along. when Steven fell onto Duat and balanced scale after they accepted each other, the moment Marc needed to let go Steven to be peace in afterlife. the episode is so heartbreaking and i want my Steven back.

Thank you for not defending the mother. I've gotten exhausted seeing so many people trying to defend her. Honestly I'd be happy if Marc's father didn't return either. He was watching from that window his son break down and couldn't even walk out the building to check on him, I hardly think he's guiltiless. Steven supports Marc and Marc supports Steven because that's how a DID system develops. We're here to be each other's support, ears, comfort, hugs and help when nobody in the outside world will reach a helping hand to us during times of a lot of stress and trauma. Steven isn't a thing that was made up and went away, he was just like Marc and they were there because they needed each other. Being compassionate towards your system mates is something a DID system should always work on.

Incredible & heartbreaking. I think (and pray) Steven will be back in the last ep - with DID (from what I've researched, I don't have DID so pls take my opinion with a pinch of salt) an alter doesn’t just ‘die’ or ‘disappear’ when they go with integration treatment (good communication between alters, an acceptance of a system, less/no blackouts when switching etc) . If they want to go with final fusion (merging experiences, traits etc), it takes years and years, a lot of work and a readiness to fuse - Steven didn’t look at all ready when he fell off that boat and introducing the third alter and then fusing in the same ep without a chance for the character to breathe would be a weird choice for me. I don't think I'd be mad if they did it as fusing is a valid treatment, I'd just miss Steven and Marc as separate entities, especially with Oscar saying that Steven is autistic so I don't know why they'd do that when the character is so important and unique. Either way I need 3 - 5 business days to recover excuse me while I return to my sobbing fest

I have DID. You're right. I'd be mad if they fused because it's not that easy, it would be a magical solution to a serious disability. But I've had temporary fusions caused by trauma before that came apart days later, I'd be cool with that. If they go that route, Steven, Marc and the third alter will not come back the same, you kinda mix traits with others when that happens. I didn't know Steven was autistic, that makes me happy because I do too.

Doctor Steven Grant was Marc's hero. He and his brother roleplayed as Dr. Grant and Rosser. When Marc is forced to deal with things too much for him physically or emotionally, he retreats into his mind, pushing forward his hero Steven to save himself. "When danger is near, Steven Grant has no fear." Marc's safe place is his memories of Tomb Buster, watching Doctor Steven Grant and Rosser with his little brother. That's the one and only favorable memory he has. Still, his mother did force herself into his room to beat him, and while Marc switched to Steven to protect himself, Steven has no memory of her abuse. Steven is only a well of happiness. We've seen Steven blackout when he faces difficult situations and we've watched him come to after the matter has been handled. We know he didn't handle his mother, he would do that, as he loves his mother. I think Steven has a safe place too and that he was unaware of it until the end of the journey. Steven's job is to protect Marc, as he's Marc's hero, and he does on Taweret's ship and when he finally does, he realizes that he's always been able to do the things Marc could too. Steven very likely saved himself from difficult situations by becoming a stronger version of himself. If you watch his ferocity and the mounds of sand around him, you might see someone capable of putting down the zealots in the alps and the thugs in Cairo. This more assertive version of Steven is likely the one who endured his mother's abuse, who asked the lady out in the museum and the one who replaced Gus after his trip to the alps--listen to the women from the previous stories in London; they're certain that they spoke to Steven! We keep thinking that it was Marc or someone else, but those women have given us no reason to assume that it was someone other than the person they were talking to. They knew who they're talking to, yet we think they must be mistaken because we think Steven isn't capable of getting a date or doing those things. The second sarcophagus we saw last week, was likely Marc and Steven's baggage, the things they had to show to each other to become whole. If Jake was actually an alter, wouldn't he have been critical in balancing the scales? The scale balanced the moment Steven was lost and Marc became whole. Steven realized he's Marc and Marc acknowledged that Steven was his safe place. Marc stopped hiding from his past and fears and remembered everything. When he returns to the living, he won't be as he was. He'll be someone he's never really been before, but probably much closer to the confident version of Steven that got things done. Marc is going to need that version of himself to deal with Arthur and Ammit, and that version of himself needs to stop half assing the story behind Layla's father's death. Marc needs an anchor, and it can't be Steven anymore. Layla's the last tether he's got. This is a really good story and I think a tough act to follow. The MCU keeps ramping things up, but I don't see this getting topped. Ever! Emmys for everyone!

I love how both of you mentioned the ancestral plane together. A museum of memories, just like in Harley Quinn, LOL! I wonder if Steven may have "created" Jake to stand up for himself and even fight back when he could not and I wonder if Jake may be the one who took the brunt of the mother's abuse, rather than Steven. I am confused still on why Steven kept calling the mother and leaving pleasant messages if Steven was the one who got most of the abuse. So, I wonder if Jake took all the abuse and Steven still has all the fond memories of the mother. If Jake is the one still back in the Asylum, I wonder if that is Konshu's link to bring Marc and Steven back to life. I gotta admit, I want to see Steven's former boss at the museum get her comeuppance for her bad treatment of Steven. LOL, what if she actually likes Steven secretly and that is why she always liked to pick on him?

I think the reason why the scale was balanced without Jake is because unlike Steven, Jake is Marc's actual emotion, his anger that he kept inside since the death of his brother. Jake is aware that he is Marc and can only appears when Marc is mad. That is why they don't need to understand each other unlike Steven who is a new identity/persona.

This was THE episode. God, I cried so much. Taweret, from the MCU, I THINK, has multiple iterations. Like there have been multiple Black Panthers in the afterlife? Maybe that's why this version seems to be so giddy and a little less knowledgeable. I would assume that a goddess who had been through this process since time immemorial would not be surprised nor would she be excited. 🤔 just a thought.

Jake will appear in the last episode, Oscar Isaac already confirmed it on an interview, Calamawy said moon knight will leave us with answers and more mysteries in the finale.. But its a limited series, I wonder where those mysteries will be answered? Maybe in the werewolf by night series which will introduce Elsa bloodstone one of the members of midnight sons

The part I am trying to reconcile is how Jake can be an unresolved alter, yet the scales balance. Perhaps, since Steven was created by Mark, Jake was actually created by the projection of malevolent and violent callousness from his mother. That might explain why the red sarcophagus was ignored and Jake does not weigh against Marc's soul.

I think the scales weren't balanced with Marc and Steven because Marc knew about Steven and created him with some measure of control, and was deceiving Steven. The other hinted at personality seems to be unknown to Marc and hidden away from himself. So it seems like neither is deceiving eachother, they are separate and seems like he's rare. Seems like the third only comes out once in a while.

That’s valid. But from what I know about Egyptian mythology, Anubis should be doing the job of weighing the hearts, and if you’re heart weighs more than the feather then you get fed to Ammit. So for me it’s strange to see Taweret doing that job. There’s also the chance Taweret is also an illusion that’s being projected by Harrow, Harrow did encourage Marc to Open up to the hippo, and I’m not sure I trust that the Field of Reeds is what it’s supposed to be...

I am not ok. This was so much. It was fantastic and the best I've ever seen from Marvel but it was hard. And I find myself now being angry at me, because I don't want Steven to go. I like him so much, but at the same time I want Marc to heal. He needs and deserves healing so much and healing for him will eventually mean that Steven has to go but not like this. I am not ok with this. I can't imagine how they will wrap up EVERYTHING in just one episode. I secretly hope that next episode is either 2 hours long or that they will give us a 7th episode as a surprise. Needless to say but I'll do it anyway. The cast here is incredible and Oscar Isaac ...wow. I totally forgot that Oscar Isaac is playing both characters. It felt like two people. He is amazing. I cried almost through the whole episode

It's a realistic plot device when the parent hates the child because of something the "child did". She's actually on the mt Rushmore spectrum with the dad from 'A Quiet Place'. Because while he didn't overtly hate his daughter, you could tell there was some resentment - but at the end he at least realized that his younger son dying wasn't her fault, it was actually his fault because he, as a parent, is the one responsible for his young children. Yeah, Marc made a bad decision by going into the cave when it rained, but again, he was a kid and kids make bad decisions literally all the time, and the only reason they grow up is because of the responsibility the parents take for them. Also, I think that, maybe, i could be wrong, but when Marc was wearing that bandage on his nose in Dr. Harrow's office, that may not have been Marc or Steven, cause it's super weird when in the following scene with him there, the bandage is gone. I dont know, maybe reaching here

I think that if you go back and watch the beginning where he's in the office with the cut on his nose, you may find something interesting. My thought currently is that it wasn't Marc in the office, but actually Jake, so we may have actually seen him and not known it. First, there's the cut and damage to the face that Marc clearly doesn't have. Then, look at his eyes. They are more open and wild looking. Also, he says very little and never actually acknowledges being Marc, he seems to be going with the flow more. Also, listen to his voice when he does talk. It sounds a bit deeper and I swear, when he actually says a line or two before things get crazy, if you listen closely there's an accent. Maybe Brooklyn or some other New York accent. I think they shot it in a way that was meant to be misleading. Just watch it again with the idea that it isn't Marc and it will make sense.

We haven't seen Jake Lockley yet (or have we?) I think Marc created Jake Lockley not Steven in that room as a child to deal coping with his Mother beating him. Steven doesn't remember that and seems to remember a loving Mother not a cruel one as we see Marc turn to Steven start to talk on his cell outside the funeral to his Mother not realizing there is no answer. Also we have seen in this episode not just Marc and Steven talking to Doctor Harrow in the Asylum but possibly Jake (the patient with the broken nose) as well. His name has not been said yet but it's been implied he's been there.

also we already saw Jake or third personality, the one with plastered nose but i think Jake is not really important with the traumas and memories. Jake could be just a state of anger, that's why he tried to stab himself with pyramid glass... also screen crush said the back to back scenarios are layered of conciousness in afterlife, which Jake is in shallower plane but Marc and Steven are in deeper plane

Except Jake was in this episode. His name wasn’t said, but he was who Harrow was actually talking with in the first Harrow scene of this episode. His voice, his appearance and his behavior are all different than we see with Marc in the 2nd Harrow scene. Each Harrow scene featured a different Alter.

Yea the hints and teases of jake is cool but having jake in this episode makes zero sense because what the whole episode is about if they put jake in this episode just for fan service is just in a way dumb. The mother is suffering a breakdown and yea i agree with what you said but we never lost a child before we don't really know how it feels and all that, sure we can say this and that but we never went through it y'know. And yea the dad just from this episode never really did anything and in a way i understand why the father stayed with the mom, i know its in a way cringe like its because of true love and all that y the father stayed with the mom and maybe he thinks it will take time for her to come back but yea still the father did really nothing and after marc got the beating the father should have done something. So yea marc definitely have really bad parents even if the mom clearly is suffering a breakdown and never recover from it and yea some will say its clear that the brother was the favourite child to the mother and in a way i agree on that, trust me i know because Its kind of how my mom treats my big bro and i differently and sometimes i said that to her face and she went dead silent most of the times. I'm pretty much black sheep of my family haha
