This episode was able to better wrap up everything in far less time than WandaVision, Falcon and the Winter Soldier, and Hawkeye. And it did a better job, too. So basically what I'm saying here is that Loki and Moon Knight are perfect, and that I can't decide which one I like more. But for the fact that Moon Knight is an introduction to a character, I'm leaning towards that as my answer even though I have no real preference.

I think the pandemic had a lot to do with WandaVision and Falcon & Winter Soldier as they were further into production when they got shut down and were some of the first shows back trying to navigate this new reality (pun not intended). Plus F&WS was confirmed to have a whole plot line removed. They said it wasn’t a pandemic in the show but it was probably some close enough to it where they felt it was going to hit a little to close to home. I know the director for Loki was working on the show until just a few days before the last episode dropped. I didn’t have a problem with Hawkeye because it’s meant to be a fun and much lighter show compared to other three. Moon Knight I think was the most consistent out of all the shows but it was also had to least amount of connection to the MCU. I love how they sprinkled in Jake here and there and let Marc and Steven get that character development. I think trying to focus on all three would have been extremely difficult for Oscar Isaac to play for an entire season as talented as he is.

I love that Konshu releases himself from Marc and Steven but stays bound to Jake. And I honestly love that we don't see Jake til the end. This season is about Marc and Steven and their relationship. Next season can put more focus on Jake in a way that fleshes him out the way Marc and Steven got fleshed out. Also, I desperately need a Funko Pop of Layla as Taweret's Avatar. Such a good finale!

Marvel at its most confident! While still feeling original! This was the most satisfying finale we could’ve asked for! The suit up transitions, power display, combat, team up moves, kiju shit!?, heart and most importantly wrapping up almost every plot line. That shot of Steven getting thrown thru the building and mark shooting back out with the grapple gun was beyond badass. Also hats off to Hawke. Top 5 mcu Villain for me

Layla is the mcu version of the Scarlet Scarab. Layla's father is named Abdallah El-Faouly which is a reference to Abdul Faoul, the Scarlet Scarab in the comics. Her father calling her his little scarab is another reference of that.

I think that Steven apartment is their inner world and Marc and Steven think they are in the real world, but Jake is the one that's actually in control of the body. Jake trapped them both within aka their ankle being bound to the bed. Amazing finale and my fav disney+ show, surpassed Loki just on Oscar Isaac alone (And tom hiddleston is my LOVE... but I now officially have a crush on Oscar. )

My theory is he knew about Jake ever since Layla's father's death. I think Jake killed Layla's father, and that's how he knew he existed. That's why he was the perfect candidate for the job. Jake scares me because he seems to like the killing and even though he's not the dominant personality, he has more control over the body/mind than Marc does. Marc seems to respect Steven's boundaries a bit more even though he probably could take over whenever he wants to, but the fact that Jake can take over whenever he wants really freaks me out. The only way I see Jake coming together with Steven and Marc as a team is if Konshu double-crosses him in some way.

This was a very satisfying finale for me. I was very upset at the idea that without Steven, Marc was balanced because I don't believe that's true. He obviously felt the same way since he went back for Steven and they had that beautiful moment of gratitude and acceptance. From that moment forward, there was no longer a struggle with regard to who was fronting. The transition from Marc to Steven and back became seamless. The only moment there was a struggle after that was when Jake took over. When Khonshu agreed to let them both go, I knew it meant that he still had Jake. That is one crafty and manipulative pigeon. I love that Layla became an avatar! I need to see MUCH more of her because she's just amazing across the board. Ammit's character design was superb and the actress who voiced her did a phenomenal job of making her both charismatic and terrifying. The whole fight between the two gods was super cool and the fact that it felt like an OG kaiju battle really made me nostalgic. This was an amazing series and even if there's not a season 2, I hope we see these characters again soon in the larger MCU.

Layla saved the day, as I thought she would, but I really liked that she was not willing to be Khonshu's avatar. And I loved that Marc gave up on paradise, choosing to be with Steven instead, which shows that (as I understand) alters never actually "die," and also the resolution of his survivor's guilt about his brother. Oh, and yes, Khonshu is and has always been, very manipulative and uncompromising. He understood Marc's weaknesses and used them to manipulate him throughout, but Steven called him on it right away in the temple in the last episode.

I loved the part where Tawarett just "swam" in and yelled "Osiris, you old softie" implying that Osiris got emotional and that's why the Dessert went chaotic.

Osiris doesn't have an influence over the dessert. Tawarett talked about Marc/Steven situation got Osiris to opened up the gate because it was his gate, the Gate of Osiris.

That last scene at the asylum was interesting. Part of me wondered if it was Harrow but now that I think about it, it's Marc and Steven making peace with the ambiguity of their reality, they choose to believe what they experienced was real even if they can't know it for sure and acknowleedge that everyone around them is in the same boat. It's definitely up there with Wandavision which still has the ability to make me tear up, especially with those last two episodes. Loved it and love Moon Knight.

Solid finale. I'm still hung up on the gods, though. When Harrow was accused, they believed him when he said he was just innocently hanging out in the desert. Now, it's like they were surprised he was releasing Amet. I know they didn't want to interfere with humanity or whatever, but they came off as a little dumb for not at least following up on the Amet thing. Also did they ever explain why so many other gods were apparently trapped in statues on that wall? But overall, I am very happy with the series.

The gods were not dumb, that scene simply portrays how people with mental illness don’t get taken seriously in general. They already have disdain for Khonshu and then it’s revealed to them that his avatar is unwell, which they even get confirmation of from said avatar (Marc) so it’s all too easy to dismiss what’s being told to them because they believe that Marc doesn’t have a firm grip on reality. The scene mirrors real life perfectly.

@Geek Adda I assume when Harrow used that big glowy stick it judged the souls of the avatars, Amit ate their souls; I mean Wenshu (aka The Mandarin) was immortal but when his soul was sucked out of him he died permanently. Not to mention only Marc seemed like he could fight, Moonknight I'm assuming once upon a one of the avatars happen to a literal knight.

A pretty solid episode. After seeing episode 5 being so psychological, emotional, and introspective, I figured the finale would be much more action-y, but was still braced for some emotional stings. It was great to keep Jake until the mid credits, and had just enough teases since episode 1 that he's been there impacting things. Would love a season 2, and a cameo or two in the upcoming projects.

Excellent analysis as always, and I especially appreciated that you noted we've covered the bulk of the philosophical debate and the intense character development before this point, so it makes sense that the finale was more focused on payoff and catharsis. And even in that light, I thought the finale was remarkably well-paced and didn't feel rushed. Everyone got their moments to shine, the conflicts were wrapped up in a satisfying manner, and the narrative resolved while also leaving the door open for more. This series stuck the landing successfully, and that's very hard to do in a story juggling this many threads. What a great show.

So I know people don't like the Batman/Moon Knight argument, but I can't help but draw parallels between each personality to different versions of Batman Nightwing - Steven Grant (very swift with his movements, not so much rushing into violence, not to mention the escrima sticks) Batman - Marc Spector (he's willing to go a bit further than Steven, but still has morals, plus he has razer projectiles themed around his whole deal) Azrael or maybe Red Hood - Jake Lockley (ruthless and willing to beat his enemies to a bloody pulp)

I figure that Jake is an alter with complete knowledge of Marc and Steven. Though he can manifest when he needs to, he can also pull on the power of Konshu to force his way into the situation when it is dire, but that power is overwhelming and causes him to lose control when the immediate danger is past. This would explain the stutter flashes that blackout the main character, and, since Konshu was trapped in stone, why he could not force his way into the fight in Alexandrer's tomb. Will we get a revelation of Jakes story, or his overall role? Does it really deserve its own season? Will what we have be enough to take Moon Knight into the greater MCU? Not really urgent questions to resolve, but there are plenty of MCU stories that are still to be told.

Even though the finale was a little underwhelming, I LOVED the crap out of this show. Also, hello, Jake Lockely! Again, I'd like to reiterate that this show deserves ALL the Emmys, especially Oscar Isaac. However, I also think that Ethan Hawke needs some love. He delivered a phenomenal performance throughout the show. Also also, to see Layla as a hero, possessed by Taweret, warmed my soul. Ammit and Khonshu? Whoa. I sincerely hope that this show gets renewed for Season 2. I think it deserves it. To the people who will complain about the ending, I say it worked out for what the whole concept of Moon Knight is. In my personal opinion, I think what I saw was real (but who knows?). Overall, this show is in my top 3 all-time favorite MCU Disney Plus shows so far. I enjoyed watching it.

No all from the same pantheon just a wide family of gods so to speak. We finally get JAke!!!!!! Which is funny because we have seen all the seeds planted of him being there. Jake is the true hand of vengeance now and it makes sense because he is the most violent of all the alters. Nice little bow they put on this season. Obviously I Wonder Woman vibes so we waiting on those comparisons. Golden wings are beautiful I love that moon knight is the batman and she is the Wonder Woman that’s dope. In the beginning Marc and Steven are fighting each other now they are helping each other to fight switching from mr knight and moon knight. I wonder if they will have a separate suit for jake. Khonshu did Marc and Steven dirty because he is a manipulator oh yeah I will release you sure…. You got no idea about this other alter you have let me latch onto him. I like that Layla being an avatar sort of protects her. Let’s say jake didn’t exist khonshu still can’t take her after releasing Marc because she is already an avatar to another god.

21:31 Well, you don't have to take Khonshu's word for it, just listen to Arthur/Ammit tell you what they'll do -> 14:07 Layla and Marc/Steven wanted to be done with this mess, and I get it, but a goddess with a penchant for revenge and instant judgement promised she'd do it all over again. Khonshu is a jerk, but he seems like an ends justifies the means sort of god, and it doesn't help that he sees humans as nothing more than people to serve gods. He calls them worm, bug, etc., though deep down that isn't exactly true. He does care, but the mission comes before feelings for him. When did Jake come into the picture? He couldn't have been part of Marc/Steven's childhood could he? If he were, shouldn't he have been part of Marc and Steven filling their half full hearts? Still, Steven came to Marc's rescue when they were children and Steven has no memory of their mother beating them. Did Jake take the hits? Is that why he is such a tank and hits like a truck now? If so, seems like he should have been part of the process to rebuild the hearts, but I guess if Marc and Steven had no clue about a third, maybe he wasn't needed to rebuild their past. I also thought this was the MCU's best Disney Plus series. Even though the finale is shorter than most, it feels very complete, and the last three stories take place during the same time, so it probably feels more complete because of that.

To me, it feels like Jake is a split personality of the split personality. (ie, Steven created him) Also, they call out Khonsu for being like Ammit, judging Harrow for "what he might do". But there was already plenty he had done that he needed to be punished for. Fist of Vengeance and all that... And besides, as you said, if they wanted to be done with this mess, then off Ammit and be done with the mess...

@@johnyshadow Prior to this episode, I washed my hands of Jake, as it looked like the story was pointing to Steven being the one saving Marc, a more confident version of himself, which we know wasn't the case at all. Jake might have been the one to take Wendy's beatings during their childhood, saving Steven and Marc from the hits. Perhaps that's why Jake is such a beast! You cannot hurt him, Wendy forged a tank. I guess we'll find out sooner or later when Jake came into the picture, but I'm going to go with that for now, that he came out at the same time as Steven and only to protect him from the beatings and his image of their mother.

The heart disappeared cause they became one. Season 1 was Marc and Stephen coming to terms with each other and accepting and becoming one. If there’s a season two it’s gonna be about Marc and Stephen coming to terms with Jake and accepting him and part of one consciousness.

Lol moon knight flying up gave me Ironman vibes I def getting falcon vibes from Layla which is ok because we have sam as cap and Joaquin as falcon why not we got three archers in Katie Kate and Clint The more the merrier Shang chi vibes in how they are feeding the souls to ammit like the soul sucker dweller in darkness. We finally get JAke!!!!!! Which is funny because we have seen all the seeds planted of him being there. Jake is the true hand of vengeance now and it makes sense because he is the most violent of all the alters.

Without nitpicking, the only qualm I'd still have is the bit where they return to the psych ward felt like it was originally meant to be seen before his resurrection from death, given the line about going to save the world. That's the only thing that stands out as a bit odd. It feels like they edited the scene into a later part to maybe balance out the ending...I donno. Overall I still liked it, but it did feel a little off...I also would have liked to have seen the other avatars have a little more of a realization of "Oh shoot...We fucked up." Just an off hand comment or two while Harrow is breaking in would have been enough.

I agree. Even if it ended being a final battle of sorts they gave a lot of satisfying answers and cool scenes. The ending between Marc & Steven was exactly how I wanted it to be! And they left enough still up in the air for a season 2. And that post-credit ! Ah! They can't not make a season 2 after that

While I think it is awesome ending (especially because I was one of those, so wait, did this all actually happen at the end) for a moment I thought the guy taking Harrow out might have been our first glimpse at Jack. As in Werewolf at Night. Since I am pretty confident that will be our next glimpse of Moon Knight.

The season left me with alot of questions unnecessarily. That may not be important to others but to me help round out the characters so i found that kinda annoying. And season 2 not being guaranteed gives me stress.

I guess I'll be the hater: finale barely over 30m long, and ended with another split personality copout. Isaac's performance was great, but the story, in my opinion, didn't execute.
