I really liked this episode And the terrible action scenes of Lee Mark and Stephen and the flexibility of changing suits I liked the director, Mohamed Diab, that Bring us Egypt in a wonderful picture and the beautiful Egyptian scenes next to the pyramids and Arabic music. And Amit's look was really terrifying. And the ending of the series was terrible, it made my mind spin to find out what happened. But I finally saw Jack Lackley. It was a great reaction John and Greg.

Layla's based off the Marvel character 'Scarlet Scarab' hence the little teases they give us, like Khonshu calling her a 'little bug' during this episode. I loved how they've portrayed her and ultimately given her the superhero finale that her character arguably deserved. They've (obviously) changed the name of the character from Abdul Faoul to to Layla El-Faouly.

So basically Jake Lockley is khonshu’s emergency 3rd persona hidden in the body that he likely uses to take control when he really needed to. If you notice, in the show it would always cut to Jake in the most crucial/tense moments of the show, likely cause khonshu felt he had to step in to make sure it went his way.

I believe that the scene with Marc and Steven at the end was actually what was happening in their mind, while Jake is fronting. This is shown by the two fish (representing Steven and Marc trapped in a fish tank) and the ankle band. They’re still trapped in their own mind by khonshu and Jake. SUCH A GOOD FINALE

A neat thing to point out at the end there is two goldfish in the tank. Representing how now Marc and Steven are stuck in their own fish tank outside the loop. When in the beginning it was one fish because only Steven was the one being hidden

Today's season finale of Moon Knight was one hell of an episode between Gods and their respective avatars battling out to save the whole world. This was truly a cinematic experience for sure with Moon Knight. I am like once Marc Spector and Steven Grant were able to form a pact that truly was the best moment because once they come face to face with Khonshu it's like "I have come to bargain..." Khonshu definite kept his word but at the same he did something by unlocking the third personality by putting Marc and Steven to bed. Also getting to see Khonshu and Amit having exposition battle leading to an actual battle in Egypt was epic. You really had that Clash of the Titans vibe during that whole scene. You can see the parallels to Ghost Rider with Khonshu wanting an avatar to be the agent of vengeance as that was the main focus in this series. Then Layla making her debut as a Superhero was amazing and Taweret being the one to help her out was beautiful. Just getting to see Layla as a superhero working side by side with Moon Knight during the final battle with the mix of Watchmen Prison fight and Old Boy one sequence fight was awesome. The whole choreography was very character driven and the moment with Layla saving a young Egypt girl with her asking Layla "Are you a Egyptian Superhero" was so incredible. For short episode it really captured all the beats so well. Khonshu is definitely not done with Marc/Steven since realizing within their minds he had to unlock a third personality with Steven/Marc being unaware. When both had the blackout it was Jake Lockley that beat Arthur Harrow near death. I think if season 2 happens we will get a new "Fist of Vengeance" in the form of Jake Lockley because that mid-credit scene set it up perfectly. I really hope we get a season 2 for this show because it was a wild crazy ride.

Since we see Marc's brother die as a child, I think Jake Lockley will be the MCU's Shadow Knight. He was the one that took the beatings and has been shown to be the vicious side of Marc. Steven and Jake will be the angel and demon on his shoulders, along with their super-powered alter egos. We could even see Jake taking more control in the second season or movie with Layla having to fight him at some point in their costumes.

If you listen carefully when Layla Al Faoul landed you hear the Avengers: Endgame theme when the Avengers Assemble. Also the whole Kali mixed with Capoeira for Moon Knight with The Scarlet Scarab fighting like The Falcon with the awesome aerial maneuver's brings back to The Falcon and The Winter Soldier. Great season overall. However my biggest takeaway from this show is that Marvel really needs to drop the 6 episode formula as I feel even this finale fell victim to it like the others, excluding Loki. Where it felt like the other episodes took their time to develop plot points and really let the audience simmer in the moment, the finale felt like we were jumping from point to point, the stakes and tension weren’t really there and the action was pretty by the numbers. I really would’ve loved to see more episodes earlier on dealing with Moon Knight’s more street-level psychological thriller side with more supernatural threats and then the final episodes leaning into the mythological and mysticism side which would ultimately lead to a more fleshed out and cathartic finale. I think Marvel should really bump up the episodes or at least increase the run time of individual episodes to deliver more satisfying and better paced finales, like Invincible, The Boys or even the Daredevil S3 finale. That would allow the creatives to have more freedom and time to flesh out more aspects and plot lines of the show without being shackled to reach the finish line. Loved the show all in all just felt a lot of potential was squandered with the finale due to the 6 episode quota. Banger reaction Greg!!

This! Was super disappointed with this finale but the overall show I loved. The fact they had Marc fly to the pyramid of Giza was an odd choice, Khonshu and Ammit fighting was left as background and I never cared about it, also since when was Harrow able to fight? I thought the whole point of Harrow releasing Ammit was so he could become her avatar. They could have easily made 2-3 more episodes and let this last stretch of the story breathe

I was hoping we'd get a MidNight Sons reference in the series with Khonshu saying Marc hasn't accepted an invite from a wizard for a group with the wizard being a reference to Doctor Strange and the group being Midnight Sons. But I enjoyed the series a whole lot with or without a MidNight Sons reference. I 100% loved how Oscar Isaac switched between accents and made it look like it's the easiest thing ever when it most likely took a bunch of takes to switch between accents with ease

This has become my favourite marvel show after that last episode! I loved how it made you feel like there was something missing at the end and then totally gives you that in the post credit scene. And the way Marc fell on his face like Steven always did at the start is the perfect way to show you that now Marc is in the dark like only Steven used to be

Yes, Marvel has proven to have a bad habit of overloading their finales and rushing them, despite Disney+ enforcing no runtime restrictions. If this episode had been a full hour, it could have had a bit of breathing room and felt more climactic. As cool as the cut over Jake saving them was, it also felt like a bit of a cheat to rush the episode towards a resolution. It might not have felt that way if the episode wasn't rushed overall. I found myself fully expecting that they would go back and show what happened, because it seemed like there should be more. When the episode ended, even after the mid-credits scene, it felt a bit unsatisfying because of how short it was. It was the shortest episode of the series. With the most to do. Marvel needs to learn to give their finales the time they need.

They never signed on for a season 2. Someone did a break down where Disney submitted this series as a one and done. The contract still states that he can possibly show up in other movies and possibly shows but a season 2 might not be possible.

i think layla may be inspired by the scarlet scarab who is originally her father in the comics i believe. he also has a son instead of a daughter. It also makes sense since her father called her his little scarab, and her badass suit has scarabs on it.

Yup, after this finale I can confidently say that Moon Knight has blown every other MCU show out of the water. I'm actually going to remember this show instead of just forgetting it ever even existed. Oscar Isaac killed it, Ethan Hawke killed it, everyone killed it! Can't wait for Moon Knight to return!

This episode definitely stuck the landing. And that CGI for Khonshu & especially Amit was on point for a Disney + show. Edit: Posted this before listening to their feelings on episode , which I totally respect. I completely understand where they’re coming from on a lot of criticisms. But for me, I really enjoyed it though I do hope they get away from the 6 episode seasons. This episode could have used some more room to breath. At the end of the day I really enjoyed the episode & the show overall.

I've watched this episode 3 times already and every time the "are you an Egyptian hero" scene happens I tear up a little bit. Seeing the excitement of that girl seeing someone who looks like her be a hero was so wholesome and I can't wait to see Ms marvel. Just have the girl ask if she's a superhero and have her say yes. People don't talk like that. If we saw a superhero in America, we wouldn't say "holy shit an American superhero?!" I think Jake does still have that New York accent. That part in “Asylum”, whoever was in control was far more violent than Marc or Stephen, as well as having the broken nose that made him look notably different than before. But the likelihood that he is a bilingual immigrant personality is not too far from possibility.

I think the largest issue with the finale is exactly what I was scared of when I saw how short the episode was - rushing moments. I couldn't agree more regarding how flat the moment felt when Marc spares Harrow and the bitch of it is that it REALLY could have worked. You slow down in the psych ward where Marc and Steven reject Harrow's interpretation and take it further to where they flip it on him, and start to psychoanalyze him. Have the audience and Marc/Steven learn what Harrow went through with Konchu, how damaged he is, the manipulation of Amit, laying the flaws of Amit's philosophy bare in front of him and have them gain more empathy for what Harrow went through, and that he's a victim much like Marc has been under Konshu, his mother, etc. Then when Marc spares him, there's an emotional core that hits as to why he would do that, going beyond the hero trope. I am in complete agreement with you all here - it needed to be minimum 20 minutes longer or have two episodes wrapping up the show. Still a lot of really cool shit that I enjoyed, especially Layla and the action was very good, but they fell short by rushing the travesty that's going on in Cairo, not spending enough time on Harrow and making space for Marc to make the decision to spare him, and damnit I would have loved to see what Jake did when he saved them. Eps 1-5 were an A, with 5 being an A+++. Finale was a B. WV is still my number one Disney+ Marvel show with Loki very close behind and if MK would have stuck this landing, it would be tied with Loki or probably surpass it.

I could be reading into this too much, but during a lot of the fight at the pyramid with both Khonshu and Moon Knight, the way the angles were shot looked like images of hieroglyphics with the way it’s shot from the side. I thought that was really cool.

Nah. WandaVision still holds the crown for me. Oscar Isaac killed it, of course, because he's a fantastic actor and kills everything he's in (when he's given good material to work with, anyway. Looking at you, Apocalypse...ugh). I actually haven't seen too much of Ethan Hawke's stuff, but he did a fantastic job too. The MCU as a whole is blessed with some freakishly talented actors.

Layla is a Scarlet Scarab!! Originally Abdul Faoul is the original Scarlet Scarab/archaeologist, and his son Mehemet inherits it. Marvel just changed Abdul's son to daughter. It was kind of a give away when Layla's surname was revealed as El Faouly and her father was an archaeologist

nah. they marketed moonknight as a supernatural, fantasy-ish, mythological show sooo it's already expected to be GCI. It's a comic book movie for Christ's sake.. not an arthouse film. Comic book movies are supposed to be over the top and that's what differentiates it from other movies. Like Scorcese said.. it's like being in a theme park and YES that is true. That's what comic book films are supposed to be.. it doesn't need to appeal to the filmbros or oscars.. it's purpose is to entertain their fans

I think it makes sense that Marc spared Harrow. The people Marc killed before were actively trying to kill him and Steven and later Layla, so Marc killed them first, in the heat of battle. Whereas Harrow and Ammit were already "defeated", so it would be like a cold-blooded murder.
