I want to try and explain some things here. I'm an archaeologist in Israel and I studied ancient Egyptian and Egyptology so I'm gonna try and put the plot in some context. In Egyptian mythology the goddess Maat was the one who judged people after death, she was represented as a feather and personified truth order and justice. When a person was judged after death, his heart was scaled against a feather and if he was deemed evil the MINOR deity Ammit devoured his soul. So, after the first episode I was a bit confused with why Harrow is all about Ammit, who is just the executioner and he completely ignores Maat. I had a conversation with a friend who studied with me and also watches the show and she had a very interesting perspective. That is exactly what makes Harrow the villain. He ignores the natural order of the judgment, he makes the executioner also the judge and the jury and he judges them even before they did anything. By twisting the original design of the process, by ignoring the actual way the judgment was meant to be, he destroys the natural order. For the reason why the other gods seem to be on Harrow's side I think it's just as they said the people abandoned them and they stopped worshiping them, so maybe that in turn gives them a sort of reason to abandon humanity. like they don't want to be bothered with us anymore and Khonshu is the only one who keep's meddling in human affairs and is sorta bothersome for the rest of them (my interpretation of things..) Also, in Egyptian mythology the goddess Hathor was not only the goddess of love and music but also represented the sky, so there's a symbolic connection between the moon and the sky. In different periods of time Hathor was the consort of many different male gods among them the moon god Khonshu. So judging by the way Yatzil spoke with Mark and was the only one to help him I do think the show was implying to a sort of relationship between Hathor and Khonshu. Those are my 2 cents, sorry it got long. PS. Thank you for Extracurricular, you are the only channel to make my wish come true. PSS.. Hope to see much more BTS.. you guys are the best!!

32:10 my theory is the third personality is the one who killed those guys in the first episode, while Marc has no problem killing ghosts, and "demons" he might have a problem with killing humanity, see how he avoids punching the kid, but slaps him instead, while on the other hand, from what I gather from comments, the third personality is a dark character. Just my theory.

I'm wondering the same. Even in this episode, I'm wondering if all the kills we're seeing is actually Jake, and if in the prior episodes the kills we're seeing are actually his doing. Maybe that's why things have changed for Steven/Marc, because Jake is showing up more?

OK so remember the panther god in black panther bast is based on the Egyptian god and we’ve had mentioned to this connects the black panther in that way. Bast is based on real life mythology Bastet. Bastet was given the heart of ra. Funny enough wakanda had a heart shaped herb. Marc is Khonshu avatar so in a way since the black panther got his power from bast is he like her avatar. The asgardians are gods and we have seen a transfer of power from thor to steve Rogers however it be by a Thor’s hammer. THat brings me to relics of dr strange where they use weapons of higher beings to channel energy and power. Also a lot of this is based on Egyptian mythology which is In Africa another obvious connection to panther. Bastet is a direct child of ra and also his protector.

Also Jeff, don't worry homie, you gon see Moonknight in the MCU way sooner than you think, even Oscar Isaac in an interview said he would love to be in a team & do a team film, interviewer asked him.. "oh you would love love to be on like a new Avengers team?" & Oscar Isaac said "nah they already been there & done that, me personally prefer "The Midnight Suns" think about that how badass would it be to see Moonknight team up with Blade, Ghostrider, Dr.Strange, Wolverine, & the Punisher like in the comics, are you kidding me" So him saying that right there is a huge plus & a big sign & with Multiverse of Madness coming up, & Blade being teased in the post credits of Eternals with the Black Knight is very very possible, plus Ghostrider getting a re-boot & Daredevil also getting a re-boot it's all possible, so yes we will see Moonknight in the MCU very soon bro, plus in the comics Moonknight was responsible for putting M'Jolnir (Thors Hammer) back together after it got shattered & destroyed at one point, Moonknight is here to stay & so is Oscar Isaac cause he loves the character & he's all the way in, they even saying he's the MCU'S biggest thing next to RBJ/Iron-man & that says a whole lot right there, just a lil something to think about. :)

Regarding the fight between Moon Knight and the jackal, it might be that, since his powers are supernatural, they work better on something supernatural like a jackal monster. Or Disney doesn't want to show Moon Knight breaking open heads like melons!

BTW Konshu stated the Moon Knight suit provides healing to Marc while he wears it. Since Konshu was turned into stone he lost his healing abilities...

in episode one there was a lot of blood when they cut away for the fight and everyone around him was dead and In this episode Marc wasn’t fighting to kill but once they cut there’s a lot of blood and everybody was dead he ask « who did that » so maybe in episode one it wasn’t even Marc killing people

Well let me touch on a lil something that RJ mentions, a 3rd personality or 3rd character that we have not be properly introduced to & his name is Jake Lockley, the fun part of this show is they are making the viewers think that Marc Spectre is the badass, the brutal one just cause he's a Mercenary but, the fun part is that sure although Marc is a merc & a badass he's not really the brutal, ruthlessly killer it's Jake Lockley, the 3rd personality & going back to what you guys said how on episode 1 he destroyed the jackal very easily & that jackal literally feared him & was trying to get a away from Moonknight & the scene where he easily killed all those henchmen, non of that was Steven or Marc all of that is Jake when he takes over the body, even the end of episode 2 when you see Steven in the mirror & we all think Marc is the one sitting on the ground drinking a bottle, i don't think that was Marc at all i think that was Jake Lockley the same way Steven nor Marc were the ones that asked that girl on a date, to me that was also Jake Lockley the 3rd personality/ 3rd character, hopefully he will be introduced on Episode 4 cause i heard episode 4 os crazy crazy. & yes RJ Isaac Newton is definitely killing with his Top Tier Acting lol! 😂

And... if you remember in episode 1, the reflection of marc/steve in several mirrors are 3 which i guess suggests that there is a 3rd personality. Harrow said "You don't need to question Ammit's judgement". That's a very polite way of saying "you *cannot* question Ammit's judgement". Ammit's criteria for judgement is not shared with any human and Ammit is the one steals the life of the one being judged. That makes her *judge*, *jury*, and *executioner*. Harrow cannot distinguish between justice and vengeance so he hasn't even considered the best use of Ammit's power. If you can see a person's future crime, you have the opportunity to talk them out of it.

I'm not quite familiar with Egyptian mythology but this is my observation from what I saw in this episode. Do remember that the one God (Yatsil) who helped Mark after the summit, saying she doesn't know who to trust because there are a lot of Ammit followers. I guess some of the gods are also amongst them especially that suit guy (Osiris) since they so willingly let Arthur Harrow back in after they imprisoned Khonshu in stone to let him speak to him. Why otherwise would a god interact with him if they didn't want to interfere with/abandoned mankind?

Werewolf by night is actually having a 1 off disney plus special & Moon Knight is making an appearance on that around October but no one has said or confirmed anything about Werewolf by night being in Midnight Suns, Midnight Suns hasn't even been confirmed yet either, Oscar Isaac has mentioned in an interview that he would love to be in a Midnight Suns team up movie but that's about it & he said maybe is a possibility down the line & when they asked him which characters he'd like to work along side with he did not even mention Werewolf by night or Black Knight either lol but of course if they do it the MCU version will have to be a bit different & change things up with the members of the team.

I agree I felt the trial and the other God’s reaction was lackluster and disappointing. Khonshu accused them of abandoning humanity and the leader said they didn’t…that humanity had abandoned them so they made a decision not to interfere in whatever happens, but that their avatars just observe. But they seemed to have NO CLUE about what Harrow was doing. They’re observing but they can’t see what he’s been been killing people? That doesn’t make sense. Also Khonshu said their case had to be irrefutable but he sent Marc in there unprepared and with no information about the process. Also Khonshu did mention that the suit has healing powers so that probably explains how the spears disappeared out of MK’s body when he went to save Layla. Steven is still learning how the suit works. Maybe he doesn’t yet realize he can probably trigger the healing abilities of the MrK suit as well? I think this will eventually tie into the rest of the MCU. But it may not be as soon as people would like. We got the Madripoor reference with Layla. Someone in another reaction channel wondered if she might have dealings with the Powerbroker. That seems like a plausible possibility. Regarding who’s good or bad. I think Khonshu is the lesser of 2 evils but they’re both extremists. Neither God takes into consideration the fact that some people can and do change. Harrow is viewpoint seems full proof but he doesn’t consider the possibility of free will and that someone you believe wil do harm could choose not to. Khonshu punishes those who have done harm but doesn’t make room for the possibility of reform and evolution and doing better. Lastly…if you don’t know what’s happening now…wait until you watch episode 4. 😊😂

Personally I think we give gods too much credit. Marvel has shown us that gods like Thor, Loki and Odin don’t know what’s going on or are easily deceived all the time so we shouldn’t expect more of the Egyptian gods.
