I really hope Steven doesn't go away he's become one of my favorite characters in the MCU and you can tell that one scene might be setting something up. In those few moments he and Layla were talking to each other she looked more happy than any point in time she did with Marc in the entire episode.

Quick correction. In a DID system, there’s no such thing as a ‘’main” alter. There is the host, who is the alter that does daily life things, and is not always the “original”. The host can also switch. In the beginning of the show, Steven is the host.

I was looking on Wikipedia and it had the list of major Egyptian deities throughout history, listed as male and female, and under female was “Bastet - Goddess represented as a cat or lioness, patroness of the city of Bubastis, linked with protection from evil” So, probably something to that!

In marvel bastet is the panther goddess. The one that the people of wakanda worship. She is the to younger sibling of khonshu in the comics.

new rockstars had a really great theory tying the egyptian mythology to black panther. there's ra, the grandpa and king of the egyptian gods, and anubis, the grandson. anubis, a bastard son born out of wedlock, wants ra's power, to be king of the egyptian gods, so he must consume ra's heart to do so. ra, trusting his dutiful daughter, bast, leaves her to hide his heart. so she puts it in the center of africa...in wakanda. the heart-shaped herb, the flower that gives a Wakandan royal their superpowers. Bast, the trusted safekeeper of her predecessor's powers; Black Panther, a hero trusted with the powers of the heart-shaped herb. IMO, killmonger burning the heart-shaped herb in black panther likely didn't kill it off. whether supernatural (it'll sprout somewhere regardless of whether it was planted) or biological (maybe it does grow somewhere), it should still be around. another connection to keep in mind (obvious enough with the bestial jackals that harrow can summon with ammit's power) with the above is that anubis and ammit are both part of that death ritual - anubis takes the heart of the dead, and weighs it on a scale. ammit is the one who consumes a heart deemed evil by the scales. i feel like - assuming it turns out differently when a god does it - she wants that power of the heart-shaped herb for herself too.

Thoughts on episode 2... The most interesting scenes in this episode were the ones between Steven & Harrow….Steven & Marc….and Marc & Khonshu. Not just for the purpose of revealing the plot but also each characters’ motivations and intent. Harrow may have an extreme point of view but the one thing he said that I believe is that Khonshu will never let Marc go. There will always be another job. He’s right about that. Khonshu doesn’t give a sh*t about Steven. It’s Marc he wants. He said he would give everything he had to protect Marc. That Marc was worth protecting. He’s not interested in letting him go. Marc has lost his taste for the work. He wants to be done. I also think a part of him has some sympathy for the impact this has had on Steven’s life. Replacing the fish, asking that woman for a date. To some degree he’s trying to protect Steven (physically & mentally). I think Marc really believes/hopes if he completes this last job that Khonshu will let him go. He’s wrong. I still think Steven is the original personality. Again I could be totally wrong about that. But I do feel confident that whichever one is the alternate, they didn’t just show up. I get the very distinct feeling that this duality has existed for years….maybe even decades. Marc did say that Steven’s always been able to keep a wall up between them but that something had changed. I wonder if it’s Steven’s awareness of Marc that’s weakened the barrier? Or if it’s something more like Steven having been put in circumstances and situations that Marc has engaged in. I liked the Mr. Knight suit. The tailoring, the details, even the stitching of the face covering. I like both suits. I very much expect Marc and Steven to eventually come to some degree of agreement…maybe an integration and they will both serve Khonshu.

OK so remember the panther god in black panther bast is based on the Egyptian god and we’ve had mentioned to this connects the black panther in that way. Bast is based on real life mythology Bastet. Bastet was given the heart of ra. Funny enough wakanda had a heart shaped herb. Marc is Khonshu avatar so in a way since the black panther got his power from bast is he like her avatar. The asgardians are gods and we have seen a transfer of power from thor to steve Rogers however it be by a Thor’s hammer. THat brings me to relics of dr strange where they use weapons of higher beings to channel energy and power. Also a lot of this is based on Egyptian mythology which is In Africa another obvious connection to panther. Bastet is a direct child of ra and also his protector

Seems like Steven will hopefully develop into a cerebral 'detective' Knight character with Marc as the brawny Moon Knight character. Caught the Global Repatriation Council (GRC from FaWS) ad on the side of the London double-decker bus placing this show post the FaWS show! Looking forward to Benson & Moorhead who directed this episode & Ep 4 directing Loki S2! QR Code to Moon Knight Comics was a nice touch - this type of Easter Egg should be incorporated organically into other MCU movies & shows! BP seems to be the only character in the MCU that's positively associated with Purple!

I completely loved the second episode but the only thing I wish it was different it's when Arthur calls the jackal from the underworld. It's cool but I didn't like the purple, and I know that's it's Disney+ show and they can't do something too dark and scary but I imagined Arthur opening that hole on the ground and instead of the purple they could use a lot of sand and then we could get a shot of the jackal crawling to the surface. Idk for me it would be cooler but no problem with that, I'm loving this show just like I'm loving y'all reactions. Can't wait for more!!!

Ok...crazy theories time...i'll try keep it short...Harrow killed Marc's team sometime in the past...there was a throwaway line in Episode 1, Harrow said something like ''I know you, mercenary'' in the village square when he first saw him so they've crossed paths already. Khonshu makes the dying Marc his new avatar although knowing about his Dissociative Identity Disorder, Marc assures him that Steven and another possible identity will not be a problem..! Although no timeline has been given as yet....all of the recent series are post Endgame....so bear with me...What if, at the time of The Snap, Steven was in control and when everyone came back, due to Marc's disorder, Steven has somehow become the dominant identity and has mostly been able to keep Marc out unless he's asleep. There's more but i'll leave it there..! 🤔🤔🤔

Nah. I don’t want the blood and gore. That stuff is boring and just violence-porn. If it happens once, it has a bigger effect than just plastering it all over. This way there is time for humor, human emotions, human interactions (love the Marc - Steven relationship, but I also like Layla and how she tackles them), moral questions and dope ace storytelling. The beating each other to pulp we have plenty of stuff with.

So we have debut of mister Night. I love this. I like that you cannot see the jackal when Steven/Marc is fighting it. Just because something isn’t real to someone else does it mean it’s not real to you. We had to return of MCU purple power. I like that Arthur has his hands everywhere I love his cult members are part of the police corruption which gives me the idea that maybe Arthur wants to be the God he doesn’t want to be an avatar. I like the Disney+ jump from the previews that we see from one night. All the stuff that Layla likes is what Steven likes so I feel like Marc is the main personality and Steven is what he created later. Steven is definitely his softer side but I feel like all of that comes from Layla. The jacket is definitely based off of Anubis got of the dead in Egyptian mythology. A lot of this reminds me of the 90s movie Spawn just how he moves. khonshu is kind of a dick lol. With the difference personalities talking through mirrors it reminds me of extraordinary gentlemen Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde.
