Need to toss in Truthear tags after Softears and before Moondrop Thanks for the round up!
@amanieux3 ай бұрын
the reason moondrop concerto has a non detachable cable is that xmems drivers requires a special voltage that normal source cannot deliver hence no regular cable
@obodioreviews3 ай бұрын
Yep! I forgot to mention that but this is also why the HiBy Xeno uses a non-detachable cable. Still, I think it'll be a turn-off for a lot of people used to detachable cables
@amanieux3 ай бұрын
@@obodioreviews agree, wired xmems won't take off until they can make it work with the lower voltage of a audio signal, for tws no problem though
@UnfaehigerKanal3 ай бұрын
They could still had done it with a special/proprietary connector at least, but no we have to throw out the entire thing when the cable breaks
@amanieux3 ай бұрын
@@UnfaehigerKanal how many iem cables break in your personal experience ? in my 5 years of iem usage i only experienced metal nozzle that unglued and a 2 pin connector that unglued
@AronAddams73 ай бұрын
@@amanieux Very good point, I threw out two IEM cable after using them roughly but even then they didn't give in.

What was your favourite pick from all of SIAS? I found Truthear Pure as intriguing.
@obodioreviews3 ай бұрын
Probably the Melodic Artification Alter Ego. It's imperfectly perfect for my tastes
@treblewellxtended3 ай бұрын
@@obodioreviews I had similar experience with it. It's not perfect but it has something addictive.

I know you mentioned that you will soon be reviewing the Yu Xuan Ji, but since the silver color is about to sell out, I wanted to ask a quick question. You say they are shiny, but I would like to know if they are similar in style to the Rose Technics Star City 5 Pro or Truthear Hexa?
@obodioreviews3 ай бұрын
In terms of build? No. The Yu Xuan Ji is pure metal

Not entirely, but I do prefer the treble of the Trio and the timbre of Enigma

@@obodioreviews Hmm. I mainly use them for solo piano; some jazz and alternative. I think I’ll keep the hexa- thanks for the advice! I’ve been enjoying the Apple Lossless + dongle dac experience with them and like the tuning. I’ve been noticing detail I never knew was there in a lot of my favorite songs (Joep Beving, Moccio). Some of the new stuff using XMEMS are definitely interesting to me as well (I’m a computer eng student that has studied MEMS stuff before) but I think my next step up will be in a year or two anyways. I’ll enjoy these!

I was about to compliment Enigma aesthetics until i heard the price. I get that there are nutheads in every hobby but 3200$ for a pair of earphones is just... - Stop it, get some help. As for Kadenz, a refined KATO for 189.99$ (according to ShenzhenAudio) in 2024 is meh considering Aria 2 is mini-KATO for 89.99$. Could've been a banger at 119.99$ as a complimentary set to Aful Explorer or something but Moondrop are living in 2022 so, unfortunate.
