I've always wondered if its important to have an AMP or a DAC when doing competitive gaming. I play R6 and I don't know if I should invest in one of them. I researched on what they do but I don't see a reason to get them like what is their purpose in relation to competitive gaming.

I’d recommend it. If you’re using a nice pair of headphones, they’ll open up more on a solid amp dac compared to on board audio

Hey fresh, have you checked out the nth 100 by rode? I’ve been using it as my primary gaming headphone for a few weeks now and find it pretty good for the price. Imaging isn’t too far off of the 560s and 38x. It could be a good budget closed back recommendation

Just curious, have you ever tried an HD700? I think they're quite close to the HD800s for a fraction of the price. I also am going through a list of IEMs (VR3000, A4000, FH5S, 64 Audio Duo) and really nothing compares to headphones imo, which is unfortunate. I wonder how close the Dunu Falcon Pro is to a pair of HP, so thanks for the wallhack tier list!

Firstable, wanted to thank for wallhack tier list. It's helpful righter than ever right now. Im trying to choose the final iem. One of the most important factors is how it performs in games and films. Unfortunately, i have no option to try any of these expansive iems and only considering from frequency responce graph and your reviews mostly. I settled with moondrop s8, because they have a bit less sub bass and mid bass than sa6, from what i understood its important to not feel overwhelmed of your own gunshots, grenades and etc. There is also more upper mid and treble (whole frequency) detail, which i think is important cosidering the fact that most of footsetps are here, but every reviwer have different opinion on soundstage for music. Since then i wanted to ask your opinion on how much frequency response is important for competetive purposes. And the last question is will you review s8 for your tier list?

all that a gamer need is the apple audio dongle type usb C. and a usb A to C adapter if needed. 190$ is to much when a 10$ solution that everyone has goated exists. plus guess what? the apple dongle has mic support too and provide a very clean mic output. so you having gaming headset? check, using mod mic 3.5? well check

Crinacle recommended the Moondrop Chu earbuds/IEM-s for about $20 a few days ago. Could you please test those? The frequency graph looks great for such a cheapo, might be a good entry lvl gaming IEM or as a reserve. I have the Sennheiser HD 560S (chosen mostly per your video recommendations) paired with an Asus Xonar U5 soundcard (that I have for a few years) and it's wallhack tier for PUBG.

I would just confirm the power requirements are met. If you want something portable you can use on the go the moonriver 2 is great and has no noticeable background noise. If you want something more powerful that sits on your desk there are a ton of very good stacks

If you want to take it on the go the moon river 2 is insanely good. If you’re not using insanely powerful headphones I think I’d go moondrop honestly so that I could use it for multi purposes.

I’ve just brought the moon river2 and I love it, only thing I can’t figure out though is I have two monitors if I’m watching you tube or twitch on the second monitor and I click back onto my main gaming monitor the sound ramps up, I’ve fixed this issue before by up dating sound drivers and disabled the enhancement settings but I cant see a enhancement tab in the sound settings for the moonriver2 anyone had this issue yet??

Since in my previous device (shanling UA2), installing the appropriate driver before using it in my windows laptop just fuck up the device completely (the volume become inconsistent, the sound changes, and sometimes the devices become unrecognizeable by windows). While just plugging it in my laptop or phone directly without installing any driver is making it work normally and as intended

@@peteryuen8427 zen dac would be fine, and probably my choice because you can add to it if you ever need more power in the future. If you’re just using IEMs you could also check out the schiit fulla if you’re just running IEMs

I always believed that Z690-I and B660-I have decent audio chip since Asus marketing those as high end SupremeFX S1220A codec with Savitech SV3H712 amplifier. That's disappointing if HD 650 can't run (decent enough) with these motherboards as I were hoping to drive my HD 660S when I upgrade to B660-I + Raptor Lake later this year.

Personally, I'd like to hear how it compares to your Q2's (Unless you have a Q1, too), the differences in the gasket mount (I know GMMK is criticized for being stiff), sound profile with the brass plate vs stock, software, keycaps, overall quality, value, etc. The GMMK Pro is one of the most popular mainstream custom boards atm so it would probably be good for the channel.

I run the G6 in stereo and eq on Dolby access pretty good. The dac stack you does it produce good sound stage? I am looking to upgrade the G6 for something more clean

The sound stage comes really from the headphone you’re using. The stack I use has a bit of warmth to it but close enough to neutral. The smsl sh6 and su6 stack has a beet more of a crystal nature to it

I bought a longer cable from Amazon for the 400I . I went back and fourth with original cable. In the end for what ever reason the original cable I heard more detail and sound stage is way wider then the after market. So weird lol

@@boamans1888 Yes, spin fits are a third party ear tip that might add a tiny bit more comfort. The nozzle is wide, which is not going to work for most, but spin fits add a little bit of additional comfort without the silicone expanding in your ear canal with as much density. If the nozzle width is too much though, the tips don't add TOO much additional comfort

@@jootai yea it’s really a widely different experience. I do agree that full open back headphones still seem to provide the best edge. IEMs get damn close though and provide enough performance with greater comfort, depending on the fit, to make them worthwhile. Love having both in the arsenal !

Also headphone hair is kind of annoying I was rly interested in the blessing 2 for gaming, but I also love music. I heard that the dusk version has punchier bass, maybe this could be the Jack of all trades?
