Just wondering why you trimmed back as you were a few feet from the ground (9:25 on the video). I'm learning.

Unlike your Cessna or Piper, the Mooney M20J noses down when flaps are applied. It needs a fair bit of back trim on finals - some folks trim back earlier than Emil did, but it's a personal preference thing. Hope this explains it for you.

@@sactu1 Yes. I guess you can trim back over the threshold, but no one ever taught me that. Instead I would pull back on the yoke to get the pitch up if necessary (over the threshold). On the other hand, perhaps trimming the pitch is more stable than hand tugging the yoke back?

@@securityfamily It's a personal choice. I'm like you, and prefer to go with the way I was taught - have it trimmed out on short final. Using this method, the flare does take some effort and I use both hands in the flare to make it easier on these tired old bones. iPad 4 but I just upgraded to the iPad gen 6 and omg what a difference in speed and smoothness
