I guess you want to keep the brake discs to the relevant side if you're reusing the brake pads?

The sound of those playing cards slapping against the tire at 1:13 brought back memories of tearing up the streets on my bicycle as a kid, with a baseball card clothes pinned to my front fork and slapping the spokes of my wheel, making the exact same sound. A sure fire sign that someday, a kid that would do that, will end up on a motorcycle. Looking good Del. You should see how my 750 is coming along. Or should I say 836 ? :)

Wow, you two then? I did that as well, if you did both wheels it sounded really cool... and yep, I guess it led us to where we are today. I was only thinking yesterday what's happened to your bike, I remember your video sliding the engine out, it sounds like it's nearly finished! Good luck and have fun with it, it's about the ride don't you agree!

Oddly enough I watched an episode of "Gold Rush" just before this video. You struck much more gold this week than they did my friend. 😁 Hard to say which shines more....those beautiful wheels or Penny's camera work. Too close to call. Cheers and thanks to both of you. I can't wait for the next chapter of the build. ❤👍👍

What are the pros & cons of using thread lock for the sprocket nuts versus nyloc nuts? Or were you just re-using the stock nuts? If you’d had suitable flanged nylocs to hand would you have used them? Is there any reason not to use nylocs?

Hiya Penny and Del. Great work! A straightforward video but as I periodically do, I'd like to laud all of the work that goes into the making. Scripting, lighting, filming, audio, editing - all are top notch. The video is the very tip of the iceberg of labour and a lovely one at that. As usual you have taken your time to carefully remove the masking, clean the threads and torque everything to spec. I'll add that I was unsure about the gold wheels but they really do pop with the tires uncovered and the gubbins back on. By the way, what did you spray on the cush drives? Anyway, take care, dear friends. Thanks as always for your content - be well and ride safe!
@Moonfleet41

Hey buddy, how wonderful to hear from you and thank you so much for such kind words of support and encouragement... you're not wrong, each video production is a 12-15hr day from beginning to end, and that's without the planning, ordering and buying parts and materials and arranging diaries with people like the spray shop and other outside vendors... I guess that's why we now know that it can take 2yrs to make a Hollywood movie that is a couple of hours long... and a year of that is the post-production alone! The spray was GT85, a silicone based PTFE lube that helps to slip the cush drive unit fully in to place and it helps condition and soften the rubber as well... Take care and have a great week there! D&Px

I read through the comments, and if there was anything I would add to them is this; Awesome ! If I had to choose any of the KZbinrs to meet, it would be you. Great job on the wheels (gold might not be my color, but watching your videos, I think I trust your judgement on how you want something to look 👍😎). Stay strong, healthy and happy 🙏😇😎👍 God Bless You and yours.

Thank you Günter, gold wheels are quite common, specially back in the 90's and earlier, in fact Kawasaki's had them quite often back in the old days, but perhaps not quite as bright and shiny as these!

Wow, they look great! The rotor and sprocket color and the new paint look so good together. I wonder what the two holes on the rim side of each "spoke" are for? Are they for when the wheels were cast, or were they used in some other application where some HUGE rotors were mounted out there on the end of the "spoke"? I wonder if some light company that loves to unbalance wheels makes an LED kit to appeal to the whippersnappers who like LEDs that spin round and round... I have seen nearly golf ball sized lights screwed onto valve stems.... Gotta wonder how many valve stems have been ripped out of the wheel from ideas like that?
@Moonfleet41
@Moonfleet41 Жыл бұрын
I've never considered the purpose of such holes, that's just how the wheels are, and yes, I've seen many overly heavy items screwed to valve stems for no reason, other than bling! The lighter the better in my view...
