Honestly, hearing the "professional" mix and his mix together made me doubt the skill of this so called "professional". It was super grainy and muffled. His master was clear, crisp, and had more impact. Any additional impact the "pro" master had was lost in the muffled quality.

Personally I think it was a perspective difference when approaching the piece. When he was doing it himself, he knows he wants the focus to be on the piano and really puts it's sound first in priority when mixing. The professional was likely handed the two pieces and told to mix them together so they did their best to give as much space for both of them but I agree I think they went overboard and played things generally too safe.
@chedkosovac83203 жыл бұрын
@@cinco_de_la_tarde No hate on the pro, but it's moonlight sonata it's the most iconic piano piece. He should know what to do with it. But he has that cookie cutter approach, most likely had a everything on a preset and just hit that and was done with it.

I es y to say that your version of Moonlight sonata really projects your spirit into the classic masterpiece. Many thanks for sharing it with us. Not only the new sound but also the story is an unique look into the master life. Really brings the music tormenting his interior and calling for within the composer, projecting outside from the piano make everything whole again

Holy cow, this is fantastic in so many ways. The creativity, the variety of sounds added alongside the piano, the overall improvements, the intensity brought in the 3rd movement rewrite, the mastering (I prefer yours too, Lionel), the virtuosity (goes without saying) - all while staying true to the original. Thank you, Lionel and Lone-R! I don’t think it would degrade your work at all to commercialize it. One thought that kept coming back to me while I listened is how great this piece would be if more choir were added over the piano (should be a different keyboard for the purpose) broken up as the 2020s global theme of “Who Wants To Be a Millionaire”? Traditionalists are going to say it’s the worst idea they’ve ever heard. But when you compare the remixes of the current and older WWTBAM themes, they don’t hold a candle to your Moonlight Sonata Nightmare Version. [In particular the music from the recent U.S. edition where Chris Harrison hosted just sucks.] Call me crazy, but I’ll be dreaming of themes, cues, beds, bumps and vamps of your work. In the admittedly unlikely event you agree, it could be worth your time to reach out to Sony Pictures Television and Disney to see if there’s an opportunity. Tomorrow I promise to go back to listening to it as you had intended and appreciate its brilliance at face value. If anyone reads this comment, please don’t hate on me or declare it blasphemy. My eclectic form of music absorption and appreciation sometimes works in mysterious ways. Happy holidays, and keep up the great work delighting us with awesome videos and audio!

i feel like every basic understanding of mixing that i know wasn’t in the professional mix. i’m not even much of an amateur but it don’t sound full and they just boosted the low- mid frequency.
