Right but the most interesting thing is that he didn't value his time like the other composers. Yes, geography probably plays a role, but that's the part I find fascinating. Best study of this would be to analyze the same composers over multiple types of compositions. Looking at speed to completion, variety, and style. That's a fascinating video!

The $75 would play in the middle of the trilogy, and the $300 and $75 would play in a mashup of them both would play in the ending of the trilogy would represent the better and more so “improved” thing or final boss battle, as it represents how it started with the villain wrecking the city, and how in the ending the more refined peoples would play out their more refined plans and moves in such a way that could never “top” the original plan, but improve on it.

Nicolaschazarre, the $75 one, was the best by far. His arrangement best matched your playing and the nature of the piece itself. It was the best one that worked WITH your track rather than against it. You're entitled to your opinion, and maybe some of the others sounded more professional in technical quality, but musically this was the best choice, imo.

That was what I was thinking. Imagine your playing a game about music throughout the years. In the end of the game you go back in time and meet Beethoven after he created the 5th symphony. You are challenged with defeating him in a music competition. This amazing piece is the one you play when going against him. After beating him, you finally go back to the present day and find yourself haunted by his ghost having to play for him once again. Eventually he teaches you what he knows and disappears. You have finally defeated a musical Prodigy known throughout the world as Beethoven...

$75 one is the perfect match to Beethovens 5th. Because they went with lower tones and that base, it just amplified how dark and visceral the symphony is while also having a matching complexity. Every beat and melody melded so perfectly but neither overpowered the other.

All three guys nailed it, they're all number 1's. It just depends on what you're looking for. $75 dude had the best gaming background track, $110 guy gave us the most cinematic vibe (my fave because it played beautifully with the original classical piece and was the most on theme IMO), and $300 guy crushed it with an epic EDM/dance club vibe. Amazing effort all around!

I think there are two different elements of “quality” to look at here: 1) Quality of the sound engineering, which in my opinion did mostly increase with price. The higher priced ones sounded cleaner to me. 2) Quality of the ideas for accompanying your piece - this is the one that I don’t think increased so much with price. Some of the cheaper options seemed more creatively inspired by the task you asked of them. I agree with you that the $300 one was overall the best work. Fair play to all of them though - they all felt like solid efforts, nobody who I think is ripping people off.

I agree totally. If you listen to very late works of Beethoven, such as the Grosse Fuge, you can sense something very strange there, like the composer went so far ahead with his ideas that even today we still have a hard time understanding what he wanted to do, and in his lifetime there were critics stating they were unlistenable. However, when Schubert, one of the most dedicated fans of Beethoven, was in his deathbed, he requested a score of just one of these last pieces from the master.

I personally agree with your ranking, following your parameters. However, I would definitely listen to Nicholaschazarre's (75) multiple times in a row compared to Wileywest's(300). Nicholas' has more of a older game feel that feels more simplistic, but definitely adds a bunch more to the song. The use of bass and higher parts accentuated the piano in a way that felt more subtle, almost like putting the piano in an elevated position and just playing bbackground. Wiley's version definitely connected into more of what you played. It also flowed well with the original and added just the right amount of suspense and increase in sound to it. The only thing I really disliked about it was the sheer amount of everything else going on around the piano. It was very well produced, but there was abpot of other elements added around the piano. It just isn't something I would play on repeat on a regular day. I'd most likely play it when I'm trying to stay focused or trying to get pumped up.

Yep, the "following your parameters" point. To me, these parameters were not clear to me until after all remixes had been presented. I had originally thought that the whole exercise would be to remix the 5th into an ultra-danceable EDM piece. To clarify: not just danceable (like re-interpreting it in 3/4 instead of 2/4 to make it a (possibly somewhat disturbing) waltz, or in 4/4 to make it a rumba - both of which would been reasonably good matches for the tempo of the 5th), but EDM-style danceable. I also assumed that changing the tempo was not allowed (it seems, however, some did that a bit, but no one went to 120 or 125bpm). Based on this assumption, the $600 piece by jmpaudiodesign would have been the winner (I actually did dance to all the tunes to check the danceability). But leaving my "stupid assumptions" aside and to consider which versions I'd actually like to listen to... Lindsey Mennenga's comment matches that perfectly.

all the producers did great especially the cinematic version but my number one is Chazarre followed by Wileywest. great music, undoubtedly Beethoven must've been very proud.

THAT WAS EPIC!! The whole video was awesome, but honestly the $110 dude at 8:39 had the hairs standing up on the back of my neck.

I wonder how these mixes would have sounded if the producers had known they'd be played for millions.

You have to view it from their point of view as well. Many people on Fiverr undercharge their work. Just think about it. They have to pay taxes as well. I don't know how long it takes to produce a song like that but if you charge $75 for it then you can not work on it more than two hours or it is not worth it. Being self employed you have to calculate a lot different than people that work a normal 9 to 5 job.

That last guy did exactly what I wanted. He didn’t try to take over what you were doing and he did a little back and forth with what I guess I would call the lifting of the work. Idkh to explain it, but he knew when to grab the audience’s attention, then hand it back to the piano. Plus the drumroll build up to the drop. The third guy was the most creative to me. He may not have been the best but goddamn he has potential.

75$ Easily takes it. He built it in a way that the remix will amplify the already epic piano song. While the others just tried to make a good standard remix.

You should be listening without knowing the cost until after you rank them all… I believe it influences in some way. Human behavior is what it is 🤷‍♀️

But we need to also consider value for money - was the $600 track 6 times better than the $100 track? Doesn't seem so.

I see a lot of people going with the $75 as the winner, and I actually have to agree From a piano player point: Nuisances are everything, Pianissimo and Forte are 2 examples that mean Soft and Loud in music theory. It's not like EDM where a standard volume can play most of the time. So this producer was able to catch that incredible buildup into finally dropping at the end! Perfectly arranged! 10/10 From a producer point: Reason I like this one so much is because nothing sounds too muddled. EQ'ing can be so annoying when something is too bass heavy, or too mid heavy. This sounds like it just nails it. Bass it heard when it's needed, and the Piano takes up most of the treble side of the spectrum, so it's mainly working with the rest of what you got. 10/10 Hope to see your name again! (Listening again lol)

I loved the $300 one too. The first thing I noticed was the violin too. Amazing counter melody, and the most original.

I salute those editors who want to keep the originality of the player's piece as the main and add some fun stuff to make it as epic piece of art. 👏👏👏

I know nothing about any of this but I know what I like to listen to. This was really fun to watch. I think your facial expressions were the best part. But this proves what I have always said and believed... "millions of super talented people out in the world that no one has ever heard of". and you don't have to be 'famous' to make a living doing what you love to do. GOOD ON YOU for giving these people some exposure. I hope they - and you,, Mr. Basics - have continued success. (You keep saying "he")
