we aren’t sure if “old” is exactly the word we’d use to describe some of these songs, but it's what ended up working best for this video lol. this was originally going to just be 1st/2nd gen, but there were a lot of 3rd gen songs that we also wanted to add! so we decided to include songs from the 90s up to 2015 (since those songs will be turning 10 this year). also, we are well aware that despite having literally 200 songs in this video, there are still a lot of great ones that we didn’t include. we will most likely end up doing a part 2 at some point!

As someone that also listens to EDM, it's the same thing. Like how is Frogbass by Snails as old as Panda Eyes' Kiko album? For example. It's with every genre. It's crazy how 2 songs from the same year can both sound like they're 5-10 years apart even if they use the same exact effects and same synths and same mics and same instruments.

I feel like that era was a turning point for kpop between the more classic kpop sound and something more Western sounding, but also groups these days have been experimenting with a more throwback/y2k sound so it’s all starting to blur together.
