Thank you for the review. I like the looks of this pen but really it should have come with a Moonman nib but the Jinhao #6 nibs are pretty good in my experience, although many probably would not agree. The only thing I would be curious of when disassembling the plunger part is when you have the knob off the end and the spring under pressure that you don't let the spring ping into another dimension, with all the odd socks & chapsticks

Moonman manufacture only F/EF nibs so if you order M nib the seller puts in a Jinhao M nib. BTW great video.

Have a "silver" one on its way. One of the things I consider when making a pen purchase is its "cool factor" and for me, this pen ticks that box! Great review, as usual. Cheers!

Thanks. Glad to see this review. It's very helpful. I'd like to see this filling mechanism adopted for the T1.

You GOT yours! I ordered mine on March 15 and still no sign of it. It left China TWICE! LOL I got the brown version. Thanks for the preview and usual excellent review! I'm really surprised it has a Jinhao nib on it. I'd be going back to that vendor and either getting a refund or exchange or at least an explanation if it is not what was advertised. Very odd.

One of the other commenters pointed out that if you order it with an "M" nib (as I did), you will get a Jinhao nib as Moonman doesn't make #6 nibs in "M". Could be true as I don't personally have any "M" Moonman nibs.

Vey nice ink. And, yes, Monteverde Cherry Danish ink immediately came to mind.

A great pen and I like the hefty weight. I bought mine with the versatile Fude(bent) nib which is pretty good for reverse writing. It is a wet writer. I have 2 TWSBI GOs with stub nibs. The TWSBI 1 is a very good pen but I don't use it as a pocket pen as it doesn't have a clip- just a jar desk pen.

I love this pen. Been using mine for the last 3 weeks. It is basically a copy of the Stipula Ventidue but a really well made one.

Looks like a nice pen. I hope mine writes just a well with the Moonman nib "F". Just arrived today. It ia a rose color. Thanks for the review as always informative. I guess I now need rose colored ink.

Would you mind zooming out just a little bit when you're showing the pen, please? It can get pretty nauseating when you're moving it around quickly. If it took took up like 3/4 of the screen width, that would make it much nicer. Good videos, though, it's nice to hear your thoughts on these pens and inks ^^

Thanks for this--very helpful. I'd seen the pen online but had no inkling about the weight and little sense of its size. I think I'm in too many of the "you might not like this pen if..." circles on the Venn diagram. But it is a handsome thing.

Think that shiny metal section is a bit of a deal breaker for me, but the spring loaded filling mechanism looks good; also like the look of today’s Diamine ink: I sense a brown ink vid just round the corner!:)

I have & enjoy the T1 with a Moonman nib, consistent nice writer. This pen is not one I would enjoy. I do like the Monteverde Gibson series, they shade very well.

Thanks for the review Mr What. Aesthetically the Moonman T2 does nothing for me ( no offence ) , but the ink is really Sweet! Thanks for writing on 2 different types of paper. I don't know of any other reviewer that does that. I really enjoy your channel, keep up the good work...Cheers!

Unlike the Moonman T1 which I didn’t like and never wished to buy, this T2 is different. I find it pretty and stylish. I own (and like) several quite heavy pens, so I wouldn’t mind the weight of this at all. Though I find the sight of shiny, often cold, slippery sections annoying. But they don’t bother me much when writing with the pen. The best thing about this pen is the filling mechanism. I love it. So very efficient and fun to use. Reminds me of my Wing Sung 601 & 601A pens with a somewhat similar system with a rod concealed by a screw-on cap at the end and similar spring/pump draw style filling. And the T2 seems like a breeze to clean, too. I’ll have to check the price and think about getting it. And this same silver finish. However, I wouldn’t like to find a Jinhao nib on my pen when there are perfectly wonderful new Moonman nibs to be had - on a Moonman pen, no less. This Diamine ink is a very decent one. I haven’t seen it before. These colours always appeal to me. I just hate these bottles, though. Irritating to get a fill from these every single time I have to do it. I was forced to buy a few when I couldn’t find the Diamine 80 ml bottles which I prefer and normally always buy. As always, many thanks for an informative review.

Thanks very much. I would have got a T1, but I really try to avoid clipless pens unless they are something super-special (such as a handmade ebonite pen from Ranga, for example).

What I Ink ..Ha, I’d have thought you already snagged the T1 a while ago. I just found the T1 rather redundant with that Kaweco-mimicry with the cap, the very conventional piston filler, no colour options that I especially fancied, and a few other things that seemed just quite meh to me. But I’ll try to get the very same T2 you reviewed here. I don’t really mind clip-less pens - in fact I quite like the ones I own (including my many Kaweco Sport pens, none of which I ever used with that optional clip). My favourite, of course, is the large, red Ranga Model 5 that your lovely review inspired me to buy. Also, unlike you, I rarely post my pens - except the pocket ones. And unlike others, I don’t carry pens in shirt pockets, either. Btw, I’m so in the mood for another semester of our Esterbrook courses. 🙂 Cheers!

Still, the T1 taught me that Moonman nibs perform better in mechanisms with more ink capacity than C/C. That is why this Jinhao nib here is a sacrilege.
@sajjadhusain4146
@sajjadhusain4146 4 жыл бұрын
Mateu Matheu ...You’re onto something there. The recent Moonman nibs that really impressed me happen to be mainly on eye dropper-fillled models: C1,C2, M2, and 2-3 other piston fillers that I have used but yet to buy. Later, I’ve been lucky and happy with the C/C filled M300, M100, M600S. But the comparatively best nibs were on the models I mentioned first.

@@sajjadhusain4146 I wrote with the converter in my C1 first for quite a while (mostly for trying out new inks so I could swap sooner), before swapping to eyedroppering it. The writing experience is a lot better with the eyedropper fill. My conclusion was that the moonman converter just wasn't very good flow-wise.

Nice review! Camera a bit too closely zoomed in and camera blurs out of focus a lot. I think a bit less zoom might fix it. :)

Thanks for the review - I'm interested to know whether you'd recommend this over the TWSBI Go? Which pen with this filling mechanism is, in your view, the best 'bang for buck' proposition?
@WhatIInk

I think this is more pen for the money than the TWSBI. My biggest gripe with the TWSBI is a lack of a clip. If you were only going to buy one, I might lean towards the T2.

@@WhatIInk Thanks for that - I'll keep an eye out! Not so excited about the colour options available right now, though, so I might wait to see if they expand the range...

The plunger gets stuck in the rear cap. I'll need to sand the inside of the rear cap.

I really like the design of this pen, and love the several Moonman pens I own. I was hoping to gey one. However, and unfortunately, I personally feel I can no longer in good conscience purchase anything from China while the CCP remains in power there.
