Is Honkai Star Rail "Doomed to Fail"?

I hope you guys enjoyed this video. I can’t wait for honkai star rail to come out and hopefully the “doom posting” that does exist for the game reduces once the game is out :). I personally think the game is awesome from playing it so far!

i think people who say its doomed to fail know nothing about the popularity of the turn based genre. fgo being a prime example of an extremely popular turn based game. and star rail having already 14 million+ pre registers

I just hope it has pvp for endgame. Although, when I consider FGO, then it makes me think they won't add any endgame.

If people are framing it as another "genshin replacement/killer" and not letting it have its own identity then yes. Many fans will give it a try and probably won't be a fan due to limited exploration and turn based combat but it will have its core audience We don't want what happened with the tower of fantasy repeating whether a new game of this genre comes out

Yeah I don’t see star rail as a Genshin killer whatsoever, I feel like that argument isnt the best or very applicable as the games are catered towards different audiences, I hope the game does flourish though as I personally love it!

i think turn base system is a good thing when u just wanna relax i started genshin to relex but it went from relax to try hard but i think this will be a relax game so i think it will be a good game and it will not be dead

I'm really excited for the game, I love TBS games and I have enjoyed my time in Genshin. The lack of PVP is a blessing for me.

Honkai Star Rail is the first turn based RPG i've played (I also have a few hundred hours in civ games), I was a bit sceptical before I played the Final beta but I can easily say that I absolutely love the combat in the game. As for the story, It's great, I do have heavy bias from following and playing hoyoverse's previous honkai game for a few years.

It won't fail. It has 3d model with 3d asset, plus it comes from hoyoverse a developer that experiment a lot in honkai, they got the experience already. If someone say fail it's mtrashed

I definitely think it’ll be popular, as it’s a hoyo game, but personally I mainly like it since it is turn based and that’s my fav genre :)

I really like how the game looks so far and fav characters are Bronya Welt and Silver wolf as well as seele and while it may not have a big audience it will still attract many people that love turn based games and I personally don’t mind turn based games so I can’t wait to see what happens as soon as the game releases

I don't agree with pvp having potential to be balanced in this game. Even if all the stats are regulated, skills wouldn't be. If your constantly going against seela and bronya in pvp for example and your f2p and can't get either even with balancing I'm sure your going to get swept lol.

Pokemon, one of the most if not most successful line of games ever is a simple turn based game. Its not a gatcha game and targets a different audience but the turn based aspect will not be its downfall. There is a lot they have to add from the closed beta (I hope). Co-op, Guilds, PVP, World bosses, etc. So much potential with this game for things that can be easily implemented. The only way I see this game failing is if Hoyo doesnt update enough/add enough content. With a turn based game you want diversity. Pokemon does this by having a ton of different characters (pokemon) and skills. This game should focus on lots of story/co-op and upgrades to make sure it doesn't get repetitive.

I think it looks beautiful but honestly I’m gonna skip it. Turn-based combat to me, myself and I is just very boring and doesn’t give the same immersion and feel as the real time open world combat that Genshin has. Turn-based is admirably strategic but stationery and sometimes will require more critical thinking than usual. Just my opinion on the matter.

I think it should not be fail. But the gameplay is quite boring from the try. The end game content of each game mode is not much different. But if it's open, probably try to play as well. Hope there is something more interesting. But, of course, the story is really fun!

Honkai veterans already know what quality of story they can expect from Star Rail. And They (or if I can call myself too) We are more than enough to keep alive the game, and trust me, someone realy realy should HATE the gameplay to stop Star Rail because of that. So long story short, Honkai Star Rail not become an overhyped money farm like Genshin, but if it'll be just as good as Honkai 3rd, it'll have a bright future. I mean if you don't care about Honkai 3rd or Honkai 3rd spoilers, just take a look at Graduation Trip that alone prove what to expect from any Honkai title.

I don't really like turned based games its annoying and slow, a single battle can already take more than 2 mins when a normal genshin battle can take less than 10 seconds. It simply requires too much time and I strongly recommend that students don't get addicted to this since once you try to geind you will find yourself grinding for 10 hours... I still think Genshin Impact is better, but all my friends now have switched from Genshin to this, and its kinda stupid to be honest I think they could certainly make it such that animations only appear once in battle for each skill and each character.

This might open up the pssibility for pvp. But if they chose not to, then it wouldt be too grindy, or you could say too tiring, because you dint have to compete with other big fish in that server. game that you can enjoy by yourself, i guess, if you willing to dedicate yourself into it. Im not playing it. Hit or miss, dodge, just like the public say, turn based. Am i a bad public if i say that ? Maybe, no one cares. Honkai 3rd, because i play it from the start, if you know dragonnest, that how i see honkai 3rd in the first place and why i like it, dungeon type boss fight, the gameplay matter alot actualy now i say that. Huh ? I could see their have these a to z team making game in diff genre and throwing it in public with no reason, just because they can. Gambling it out.

Being ignorant and misinformed I can understand, but I won't tolerate those who blatantly spread negativity just because it's not what they want in a game. Not everyone shares the interest as you. Just ignore it and move on if you don't like it, simple. The more you spread negativity, the more people will take notice and ignore you out of spite because you have little to no valid arguments to back it up.

@@Moonnverse If Honkai Star Rail as they say is "doomed to fail" then how come it met it's pre-registration milestone of 5 million in less than a month? It means there's growing interest. Sure, it will taper off and eventually plateaus over time but it goes to show that HoYoVerse has a lot of fuel left in the tank. People don't understand that Genshin Impact is not the be-all/end-all. Don't they even think that having another duplicate of the same game is an admission that the devs are lazy and money grabbers, and the players as mindless simps who will gladly offer whatever they have just to get what they want which is another Genshin and/or Honkai Impact? It's mind-blowing because this is why the gacha model Star Rail is following is the way it is because Genshin trucked a lot of first-timets into spending insane amounts of money and became stupidly effective despite its horrible pity system.

Once real games like Tekken 8, Street Fighter 6, Legend of Zelda Tears of the Kingdom, and Final Fantasy 16 comes out then this game will quickly be irrelevant I guaranteed you. So yes it will fail including that trash Genshin Impact. Which is already failing.

as a student, i appreciate this feature besides, it's an option, and there is a point in doing it manually as well, to get max rewards on Forgotten Hall plus simulated universe actually being pretty rough in the harder difficulties honestly i think it's just the game's way of saying that it respects your time but i do understand where you're coming from
