Such a classic film! The music in this scene gives me chills and it can relax you within seconds of listening to it. The women in this scene, were they all supermodels in the 70’s? I bet Bond was hoping for a different kind of outcome when he saw them all 😂

Moonraker is actually very underrated cause initially critics found it silly with the countless gadgets and Roger Moore's jokes. It might be no Goldfinger, Fireball or You only live Twice, but it's actually one of the better Bonds. And infinitely more enjoyable than the bleak and nihilistic Bond movies of the last decade.

Goldfinger is also unrealistic. No criminal in his right mind would allow Bond to live that long. These movies were made from enjoyment. Although Goldfinger has a "rape" moment, which Moonraker does not have. Moonraker also treats women awfully, but not as awfully as Goldfinger. Moonraker is pure fun though, and this moment, as unrealistic as it is, is obviously very enjoyable.

A very sublime cue by the one and only John Barry. The entire film as he scored it is filled with lofty, magisterial and even funereal at times, as in the “Bond Lured to Pyramid” cue. This is probably owed to the personal tragedy he endured that year when he lost both parents.

Old Bond movies are fun and all but they straddle the line between being a campy adult action movie with women and sex being thrown in as much as possible in any context cause'that's what adults like'and'saturday morning cartoon superhero saves the day from evil bad guy against all odds'. Craig's might be boring for some but at least they have a tad bit more'seriousness'to a franchise that always was apparently'very serious and adult'despite sometimes looking like an action comic book

This is the first movie I remember seeing actually in the theater. I was way too young to be in a Bond movie, but I'm not sorry (and I tried to convince my mom to let me dress as Jaws that Halloween!)

John Barry's best. Up there with his Walkabout score. Beautiful but also eerie. English composers tend to weave in and out of light and darkness almost seamlessly. They live between hope and melancholia. Ralph Vaughan Williams was a master at that for instance.

This is scene is such a theatrical moment it’s so easy for Bond to be tricked and deceived by women that’s Bonds favorite personal desire but it’s also his weakness his blindspot in this case the villain was ingenious enough to figure that out by having his evil women lure him into a trap.
