I was a kid in 1977 when I first saw this. Teaser looks very much like my dear friend Nate.... Very much love Cat Stevens ~ Yousef Islam.... He's such a gifted singer and artist in any of his "incarnations". I hope he knows how much he is still loved.

Not only was Cat Stevens a composer, singer and musician; he used his creative talent in illustration and animation. I saw this animation with my then husband in 1977. The age that I am now I perceive the "Moonshadow" is getting nearer for me and those of my generation.

Always loved the ‘CAT’. My ABSOLUTELY BEAUTIFUL DAD ( who l just lost😭💦💦), was in the music business. THE CAT came out here just to ‘check out Australia’. My DAD told me he had to ‘look after’ Cat on this particular day. I didn’t believe him. I was just a little kid. My DAD NEVER EVER told me fibs. I didn’t go. 😳So DAD bought a copy of ‘,MONA BONE JAKON’ signed to me by CAT. I was heartbroken. Serves my right. I’m a pianist/ guitarist now. They played ‘MORNING HAS BROKEN’ at DADS service. Now , l can’t play it through my tears. I ADORE YOU DAD. See you again...... 💔

One of the great segments in the awesome Fantastic Animation Festival. I wish this would be released on DVD. It is a shame that this spectacular animation compilation should just pass into oblivion and be only memories of those who had the opportunity to see it on the big screen (the truly lucky ones) or on VHS (like myself) but thanks to KZbin it can reassembled as best as memory can recall. Intelligent adult animation is a rare thing nowadays as the medium is now just pandering to children. In the documentary Jodorowsky's Dune the director himself considered the idea of his Dune being turned into an animated film. I would love to see an epic animation science fiction film but I think the audience would be limited as most people will be put off by the fact that it is a "cartoon". A cartoon and animation are idelogically opposites, One aspires to something more artistic and the other is a mere product for mass consumption.

THUMP! The noise made Teaser jump. "Look at that! Quick, follow me, Firecat." The fallen moon was stuck in the roof of an old deserted barn. Teaser climbed up and, pushing as hard as he could, tried to move it. "Leaping Lunacy!!! It's rolling!" The moon rolled fast. It rolled past the tall pines and onto the purple river. "Quick! This stick will do the trick," said Teaser, leaning over. "SCREAMEOW!" The clumsy Firecat slipped and fell flat onto the moon. And he slowly floated away… toward the dangerous waters-end. "What luck it's stuck! Hand me your paw, and I'll pull you up." Teaser had spoken too soon. The moon went drifting deep into the night, floating over valleys and hills until it came down on a prickle-red-tree. Then out came five red owls, and Teaser told them what had happened. The owls picked up the moon with their beaks and they flung it far into the starry sky. Teaser and the Firecat said "Goodbye."
