Listen to this man: he speaks the Truth! First started watching his videos because he was making wine out of the weirdest things. It was like watching a car colliding with a train; you couldn't not watch it. Then he started making moonshine videos. Got into that. I was so excited that I purchased a copper still kit to make a 10 gallon still. I f**cked it up (I failed metal working in shop class so I should have known better!) Phil got me a keg still. I ran my first mash of 3 pounds yellow corn, 3 pounds white cor, two pounds white wheat, and one pound spelt. (I told Phil what I had, and he gave me the recipe.) I was hooked. My PBR 124 (PhilBilly Recipe) was reviewed by some expert podcasters who put it up against a commercial white liquor, and PBR 124 came out the winner! Since then I've made my second run of that recipe and am putting it on Philbilly oak. Hope to bring the bourbon to Key West n July and bribe the judges in the Ernest Hemingway Look Alike contest. Also on my second run of rye. I am having a blast. Very happy to find this new hobby, and very glad to know Philbilly.

I bought a 20 gal pot still. Wife said go big or go home when I showed her the 10 gal So I am learning. I bought the heating element version so I can distill inside... I'm trying to get to the understanding of when I need or not need a thumper. I understand what it's for just not clear on when it is or isn't needed. Great videos though keep them goin

Def common sense. If you’re using gas cook stove indoors make sure your off take is well away from your heat source lol and keep a fire extinguisher close by just incase something goes sideways. And of course common sense my friends

I just started a jalapeño mash with just jalapeño sugar and yeast. I use a 5 gallon water jug. Its been about 12 hours and the balloon seems to be sucking into the jug instead of blowing up. What happened?

I have a question….I have a MileHi column still with 7 plates…..16 gal boiler. Will a Vevor 5200 chiller along with 55 gallon barrel of water cool it enough?
