I don't speak Finnish, and although the perversion of Baltic and Scandinavian cultures through systemic theocratic upheaval is an important subject to me being that I'm a Nurse Odinist, this song doesn't really hit me for those reasons. It hits me in my heart on a more primal, spiritual level... Like it's so beautiful it gets me to cry just because I have something inside of me I need to let go of but can't expel on my own will. Moonsorrow makes me feel that it's okay to cry.

" It hits me in my heart on a more primal, spiritual level..." This is the reason you could feel like home in Finland. We're not afraid of isolation, nature or harsh weather, but the people and the system. We still tend to have very closed and close circles. And if you break the trust, you will be gone forever most likely. There is no greater currency for Finns than trust, loyalty and family. If you belong in those, you're sacred for life.

It works really well yes ! If you want to see more Scotland you could also try Scotland & Pink Floyd or Scotland & Ludovico Einaudi ... they have some of my newer footage.

The little guitar solo at 6:17 reminds me of late 80s Queen along with parts of the song itself Otherwise a fantastic song, probably one of my favourites after Sankarihauta, Kivenkantaja and Matkan Lopussa.

Mimisbrunn from Jumalten Aika is a masterpiece imo too. The whole Jumalten Aika album including this Kivenkantaja is insane! V: Hävitetty too (my first Moonsorrow album btw)

For me, the band was the best until Verisäkeet (not saying that they sucked after Kivenkantaja, they have always been epic). My favourite songs would be following: 1. Tyven/Sankarihauta 2. Kivenkantaja (saddest Moonsorrow song for me, based on the lyrics) 3. Matkan Lopussa (traditional song meets 70s Queen) 4. Raunioilla 5. Unohduksen Lapsi Hiidenpelto, Sankaritarina, Pimea, Suden Tunti, Pakanajuhla and Köyliönjärven Jäällä can fight for the 6th spot
