In den 80ern hat sich in der Popkultur eine Abneigung gegen die Deutsche Sprache entwickelt. (Denn wenn die Leute Englisch besser verstanden hätten, hätten sie erst erkannt wie trashig Pop-Lyriks oftmals eigentlich sind) Deshalb hat die breite, unkultivierte Masse Englisch als "cooler" empfunden.

Ich hätte nie gedacht, dass ein Cover von diesem Song dem Original ebenbürtig sein könnte. Der Gesang von Thomas Lindner hat die Botschaft des Liedes so ernsthaft und ehrlich rüber grebracht. Aber ich muss mich eines Besseren belehren lassen. Chapeau! Susannes sanfte, klare Stimme und Thomas' Gitarre und Chorus passen sich diesem Lied an wie maßgeschneiderte Handschuhe. Since I really do like your rendition of this song (in fact you two were the first I heared it from, so I may be a little biased ;-)), I decided to not only provide the lyrics, but to also provide an english translation for all the non-german speakers around here. While it may not be exactly literal, I tried to keep it as close to the meaning of the German version as I could.
