Been searching for a video comparing the two, awesome video! Thank you! 🙏 This channel should be as big as the Anderton’s one! One day I think it will!

Thank you! That is such a huge compliment! Let us know if there is ever a video that you are looking for and if we have the gear, we can make it!

MooreMusicGuitars that’s so kind of you guys! Unfortunately I live in Finland, but if there is a possibility to ship a guitar over or something one day I’d love to support you guys! But I’ll keep watching your videos for sure and maybe a request if I think of one someday, thanks again! Keep rocking! 🙏🎶

I have the SH, it's my main player, love the versatility.

Tele’s are also ideal for Funk, Blues, & if you turn down the tone on the neck pickup it’s the perfect sound for Jazz. So versatile, yet so simple. That’s why I’ll never sell my Tele. Mine has a Maple neck. Do you think the Rosewood neck (which I usually prefer on all me electric guitars) makes the Tele brighter?
@MooreMusicGuitars5 жыл бұрын
We have found that the ones with the Maple neck and fretboard are a bit brighter. The Rosewood fretboards usually give a more warm sound.

Thanks for this video, exactly what I needed. For future similar videos, just use the same player and amp, so we can really hear just the guitar change. But this was great info without having to go compare myself. Thanks for your time!!

Single coils sound rounder and fatter. Hums sound punchy mid. Both are good. BUT single coils sound the best overall with delay and atmosphere. Lower output pickups with a good Amp- done. Humbuckers are much more limiting. That’s why we play both- depending what we are going for. You can’t just have 1 guitar. Discussion solved.... and inventing the coil tap to split a coil- there’s your answer. Single coils are it- all the way.

I think the same. I would like to know what good amp you like?

I'd actually like a bridge humbucker with a neck single.But unless I go custom I doubt I could get one.
@tonegrail650 Жыл бұрын
Get an HH tele and swap out the neck humbucker for a single.
@cnuevogo5 жыл бұрын
Thank you very much for the comparative! I think the one with the HUM has a brighter sound when it's played in the single coil option for the neck pickup. Do both guitars use the same AMP in the video?
@MooreMusicGuitars5 жыл бұрын
Thank you! Yes, unless we are doing an AMP demo, we use the Mesa TC-50.

Teles are not often used in a hard rock, let alone a metal context - but some decent chunky tones can be produced out of the humbucker in the neck, from what I’ve seen.
@powbobs7 ай бұрын
You are completely wrong. Tons of famous rock a metal songs were played on tele. The first two Led Zeppelin albums for example.

Thanks for an informative video. I’ve searched far and wide for a video that demoed the differences between these guitars. Most other videos seem more concerned with letting the demonstrator show off than letting the viewer hear the differences in a clear and meaningful way. This video is the best I’ve found on this topic. May I make a request? Can you do the same demo for the middle position on these guitars? I’m keen to hear the difference between Bridge+Lipstick/Bridge+Hum/Bridge+Split Hum. And now, I must unfortunately end my message with some constructive criticism. Coil Tapping and Coil Splitting have been around for decades, but still in 2019, music professionals continue to misuse these terms. Friends...: SPLITTING is when you shorten the circuit by bypassing one of the humbucker’s coils to effectively to turn the humbucker into a single coil. TAPPING is when you shorten the circuit by bypassing the last X-thousand winds on a single coil, effectively turning a hotter single coil into a less hot single coil. For example, a 8000-turn single coil can be tapped to give the player the option to reduce the effective winds to 5000. If we arm ourselves with the right vocabulary we can cease perpetuating the misuse of these terms.

Fender's "Double-Tap" pickups are actually a bit of a different animal than typical split or tapped pickups. When in "humbucker" mode, they are using a tapped screw coil wired to the slug coil in series. When you go to single-coil mode it uses the untapped screw coil alone.

Thanks for a great video gentlemen!Could you possibly give your opinion on which in between a custom shop 51 model with a Seth Lover 4C Rel humbucker pickup and a 63 custom shop model with a single coil neck pickup which is a better overall telecaster??? thanks a lot? I am talking about snap, clarity, gain sound, wolf voice and power.

I bought a plater series strat SSS and wish I would have gotten the tele HH! The versatility is great!

I bought the SSS and HSH strats and actually prefer the SSS with pedals. HSS is probably the most versatile strat.

So obviously we are required to buy one of each ! its like when they expanded beer to the 18 pack ....you are required to drink 18 beers and not just 12 anymore things change :)

Fender Custom Shop uses seymour duncan or evh humbuckers cuz they compete with this other brand.... 🙂 I've put a Gibson Humbucker in my tele, like Keith, Andy, Albert and a few others.... 🤩🤩🤩

Jesus what horrible colors. What in the hell is Fender thinking? Oh, never mind, they’re in California, and anyone who CAN think, knows Californians CAN’T think lol. “A is A.” Just saying. I like the old Specials with the Texas Specials...Wish I could get one of those, in an actual GOOD color, There are a few left, but only in mint and blond, which I’m not paying a grand for.
