I stumbled across this place last year (basically googled “birding in Phoenix”). Couldn’t have been more pleased. So many pelicans! I was glad to see you post about it! It’s definitely a gem.

We took you up on your recommendation of Madera Canyon. Wow. We’ll put Water Ranch on our list. Many thanks, Moose!

Nice to see you're in AZ. We do get a lot of bird species here and the Riparian is a really popular spot for Photographers. The one species we get most are Snow Birds migrating for the winter from Canada. They tend to clog up the roads and shopping centers so plan accordingly when navigating around the valley. OK, I'll let myself out now. 😆😆😆

Great share Moose! I was just there a month ago for an entomology conference and stopped by for some great birding. Stunning images as per usual from you!

I love going there too. You might try Sweetwater on the west side of Tucson as its similar and usually good for Green Heron's and waterfowl.

I was there in September and all of the ponds were dry except the one with the dock. Very disappointing. A local thought they had been drained for financial reasons. Glad to hear this is a normal occurrence. Just wish I knew before getting up very early to be there for good light.

That is disappointing, but it happens based on waste water. thanks for watching!
