Thanks for the video. I've been wanting to go up to the North country and do a kayak exploring/camping trip and never really thought about Maine until this week as I was flying over it returning to the US from Europe. Looks like a place I will seriously consider now!

Oh wow Montgomery that is awesome! I’d love to see Maine from the air! Good luck & enjoy. If you’re an avid kayaker, Moosehead Lake is large gorgeous body of water but without a spot could be confusing. Lily Bay state park Campground is situated in the perfect spot on the lake. 30 miscellaneous islands all situated right out front of the campground to paddle in around in amongst! I’d direct you to investigate that spot for sure!!

@@NATIONALJAYOGRAPHIC It doesn't surprise me one bit that you don't know you are doing it but clearly you do it. If I see you doing this again anywhere in Maine my only choice will be to report it to the authorities and to wildlife protection groups. Some people chase wildlife with snowmobiles. You frighten them with your kayak and then try to amuse us with the results.

@@bwinmaine if you are referencing the loon waddling up on the sandy beach. I was there exactly the day before and there was no egg. I showed up to beach my kayak and eat lunch and this loon pops up next to the kayak and waddles ashore. I took my phone out to record this unusual behavior and seen her sit on it in surprise. The moose, we were on a river and had to pass each other, I spoke calm got a pic and kept going. Now, I wasn’t disturbing wildlife for my enjoyment like state and I take tremendous offense to your accusation! Bill it’s evident you want to be a hero for wildlife. But your more of an annoyance to society. Move along and take opinion with you.

@@NATIONALJAYOGRAPHIC So you do apparently understand the behavior of some wild birds when they feel their nest is threatened. And you do understand the odd and potentially harmful threat you posed to the moose although when you say, "we were on a river and had to pass each other" that doesn't explain why you were pointing your kayak directly at the moose, not up or down the river at 1:48 in your video. To deny that you posted these two incidents for your audience's entertainment is dishonest. As far as me being an annoyance, I'd much rather annoy someone like you than annoy the wildlife of Maine.
