little fungi fact: mycelium isn't exactly mushroom "roots" - it's more the whole main body of the mushroom itself. the mushroom is just a fruiting body for the fungus to spread spores. both mycelium and mushrooms are formed of smaller filament like structures called hyphae, which are supported by chitin when growing a mushroom.

Actually, I've had two instances of hostile mobs spawning at my mooshroom island, twice, a Skelton horse trap spawned on my island, both times skeletons started shooting me, I have it recorded. Because no mobs spawn there, there is a way higher chance to encounter the skeleton trap, I've only been living on the island for about 70 in game days. So, there are more than 2 mobs that can spawn there, also, many wandering traders spawn there too.

A lot of mob farms saw their rates drop post 1.18 due to more caves creating dark spawning cave mobs. Mooshroom islands are a great way to counteract this so long as the biome is sufficiently deep (biomes are now 3d and don't necessarily go from the sky to the bedrock, as mentioned when something like a lush cavern biome is down there). Obviously the farm won't work on the island, but deep ocean is already a good option for spawnproofing for mob farms and the Mooshroom islands mean you can have over things around your farm without it having to be in the middle of nothing. It can be like having the benefits of peaceful mode for your mines, farms, and villages without the downsides of peaceful mode (no hostile drops). If you have a kid or new player you want to put on your server to play with you, it can be a great place to start them out. Escort them to their island and let them learn the ropes on easy mode while still sharing your the world with you. As far as being over powered? No, just slightly above normal in some ways - which is why it is a rare biome. The only thing truly OP in the game (other than exploits) is villager trading.

9:50 from my limited testing both stews of regeneration and saturation are good in their own way like steak vs golden carrots. Stew of regeneration preserves saturation by restoring HP with the regen effect, while stew of saturation will use up some of that saturation to heal. Stew of regen can probably also heal more when starving while saturation heals faster when full hunger. Considering they are unstackable most players won't eat these stews until necessary (very low hunger/health) to maximise benefit. Of course in case HP is full then stew of saturation is better.

I have to say that I'm surprised mushrooms can't grow on rooted dirt like it would on podzol. Also, way back in the beta days, mooshroom islands were so rare, and the performance and tools to find pretty bad, that it almost felt like an urban myth. Nowadays with blocklight level requirements being lowered to 0 from 7 for mobs to spawn there's less incentive to go hunt for mooshroom islands, but they're still pretty neat I suppose.

Something worth noting aswell, is that you can abuse Mushroom Islands, or rather the border of them, to very quickly build a 100% spawnrate mobfarm compared to other places in the game. As no mobs can physically spawn in the 'shroom land itself, if you build up to around height 182 and then horizontally out over normal ocean, you can AFK closer to the ground than any other mobfarm without worrying about floor or cave lighting below you. Post-1.18, it is a very desirable way to do it to avoid going actually insane lighting up caves for over 10x as long as pre-1.18.

I was rather surprised when I found a pretty sizeable mushroom island not too far away from my world spawn (approximately 1000 blocks, but I might be wrong), albeit through Chunkbase. Also, mushrooms can actually spread and grow on their own? What? I never knew that. Funny enough, I actually attempted to give a reason why nothing spawns on mushroom islands except for mushroom cows. The reason is that anything living that comes in contact with mycelium will slowly convert into mushroom itself and become a part of the island. The mycelium converted everything on the islands except for the cows, who somehow developed a symbiotic relationship with the mycelium and became moosrooms. And in my headcanon it was that anyone who drinks mooshroom-produced stew will be assimilated into mycelium. And for this reason the islands were used by nearby pirates to deal with traitors and other unwanted individuals. They would leave them on these seemingly peaceful islands with no materials to make a boat from, with no food. So that they could either starve to death or drink mushroom stew and slowly be assimilated by the mycelium.

My main base and is a giant mushroom island. Like, thousands of blocks long/wide (because of large biomes). I had a lake generate inside of the island and due to the fact the lake is ocean biome, mobs can spawn in that small area only. This allowed me to make a super efficient mob farm without lighting up a huge number of caves. Other ways I have used the no-mob spawning property of the biome is by making underground catacombs without a lot of lighting and make use of the darkness as an aesthetic aspect of the the build.

I used mushroom biomes and oceans in 1.19 to push my spawn away from 0.0 so that I have a stronghold right next to my spawn. They made some changes to this recently, but I'm keeping my world :). I have an ender toilet setup at spawn that detects items, so I can always teleport to spawn from the end dimension, and back to the end from there. It's a very handy setup to save time.

I'm not certain if this video is simply outdated or outright wrong however it is possible for lush caves, mine-shafts and dungeons to generate under a mooshroom biome even if that is rather rare this means their is the possibility of hostile mobs spawning "under" said biome.

Not sure if its a bedrock thing only or my luck, but Skeleton horses are very common to generate here during storms. Also, if anyone has any awesome mushroom island at or within veiw of spawn seeds for Bedrock 1.19 could you post them, or hell make a video?

It's a special feature of living on mooshroom islands, they are the only hostile mob that can spawn, I have 8 zombie horses now lol.

Fun Fact! Mooshrooms (brown and red) are the only convertible mod through lightning that are immune to the damage! You can test it through hitting an armor stand next to a mooshroom so they won't get hit by the trident or fire!

i made a portal to the closest one for food purposes. literally makes all food farms obsolete when you can get stacks of beef and leather in 10 mins with looting.

Im based on a mooshroom island now and its good. The problem is the lack immediate resources early game its rough moving stuff there without nether portals. I got one with a monument right next door which will be great for rates, a lush cave beneath, i moved some villagers there too. Its gonna be dope. Though gotta watch out for zombie sieges that is the only way a zombie will spawn on the island surface.

The lore they give by making mushroom islands ONLY in deep oceans mostly far away from everything cut off from the world with the little hints we have of it even taking over grass means it’d probably spread and take the world or huge chunks of it if it ever touched land

Op early game item: Feed poppy to a brown cow, the stew will give you 5 second night vision! Cool stuff for caving. Under 10 days you will most likely find a brown cow, thunderstorms can make them.
@amos.rand_vfx2 жыл бұрын
Brown mooshrooms do not spawn naturally, so you would have to either get a channelling trident, or wait for one to get struck naturally, so I'd argue it is not easy.
@qoilmdimibmliopqoilmdimibm75892 жыл бұрын
@@amos.rand_vfxyou can use a lightning rod as well. But in a scenario where you build your base there, start working on basic farms or just mining and accidentally wait through a thunderstorm without sleeping... I have found several brown ones hanging around in my world
@ihatethisaccount2 жыл бұрын
Not really op, because the effect is for only 5 seconds so you would have to spend time eating a lot of them if you actually wanted to find ores and stuff.

@@ihatethisaccount yeah, but you can get a basic idea how big/what shape your cavesystem is... Or if your cave reaches outside the mooshroom "protective area" you can locate groupes of mobs, and watch out before you head into the unknown
