My 318 Mopar I threw together in my backyard :)

Cam: 600-9 Comp Cam
Valve Springs: 904-16 Comp Cam
Headers: 5901hkr
Ignition: Pertronix Flamethrower
Heads: Stock Small Valve 318 302 heads.
Transmission-
Fresh rebuild 727 with a shift kit

Wanna do something similar to an 85 fifth avenue, make it a semi sleeper 🤣😅 is the cam all you did? Was more wondering about exhaust and other modifications if you have, deleted the lean burn and got rid of the Carter carb.. other then that haven't done much but would appreciate some suggestions

That’s a sweet sounding engine. I have a 86 D150 with a 318 , I’d like to rebuild it , but nothing radical , it’s a working truck , just want a nice healthy engine with a slightly better performing cam , mild build . What’s your thoughts or recommendations on that ?

Does it have a catalytic converter cause I have a 87 W100 with a cammed 318, hooker headers, 2 1/2 inch piping, one flowmaster 40, and single exit exhaust and I’m looking to put duals on it but I don’t know what would be best. This sounds phenomenal

No cat. My exhaust goes from the headers into a single 2.5” pipe then goes through a flowmaster single in dual out to the cherry bomb tips. I did this so I only had to worry about 1 cutout valve.

It was wet out so not really

Did you have to run high initial timing or drill the primary throttle blades to get it to idle well?

It’s been awhile since I messed with the timing but I remember it being close to factory spec from my dodge truck book and may have been adjusted a small amount from there to make up for the bigger cam and such. I know my distributer advanced too quickly I have a pertronix flamethrower, I never changed the weights out to adjust that issue but its ran great for years starts up and runs awesome. Never had an idling issue. If I ever get the chance I’ll let you know what it’s set to

It’s both headers into a single 2.5” then there is a cutoff valve then it goes through a flowmaster 40 single to dual with the cherry bomb tips

Are you running power brakes? Asking cause the size of the lift cam can cause vacuum issues and didn’t know if you were having issues using power brakes if you are running them

Yes I have power brakes. I have .513 lift and when I first drove it I had no brakes at all, I had to buy this: www.amazon.com/dp/B00062YEJK/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_glt_i_7X2SZANAQQXVZWZ79E4H?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1 . One hose from the can to the brake booster and one to the back of the carb and now my brakes feel amazing never had an issue since

Yes 86 LA Roller block, with the stock #302 swirl port closed chamber 318 heads with comp cam springs, and it has the stock stamped steel 1.5 rockers still.
