The sealant bottle seems to be a one time use but the kit can continue to be used as an air inflator

You're better off using a can of Fix-a-Flat then filling the tire to the proper pressure. It'll be cheaper than buying a dealership sealant can.

Bought a jeep compass for my daughter. Saw this in the trunk and just shook my head. My 4runner comes with a spare matching rim and full size tire.............

Not exactly. If your tire pressure is just low (but there isn't a puncture) don't add sealant (with the sealant mode) to the tire--just add air.
