Wow, that took a while to get the camper off the back of the truck. A few blueberries scones now would help give you more energy back.

Fantastic opener clip of the truck camper removal. I feel so bad that you’ve rectifying to do. I try to DIY, myself, and also find that the one time and done approach just does not always apply. Your honesty is really helpful, though, as it sure does help the rest of us out here. Thanks for the video.

You may want to cut an access panel in the underbelly in line with the sensor. This will make it easier to change the batteries when needed.

I have 2 of the Mopeka Pro sensors on the propane tanks in our 2023 Northern Lite truck camper, been using them for 5 months now and what a game changer it’s been to see how much propane is available.

Hi guys! Thought it was me who made comedy night when I have to take the camper off. I stand on a slope and the spirit level is therefore my best friend. Yes sensors.....Hope your new ones work. I get frustrated with mine. And you don't have a problem with a frozen lithium battery (with built-in heating). Suddenly the battery wouldn't accept charging. But Alde Heating fixed the issue.

Oh it’s straight up comedy hour getting that dang thing off! Like and episode of Benny Hill. 🤣 Glad to hear the Alde fixed your cold batteries…we LOVE the Alde system!

Well that was a mini adventure in home improvement. But you two always get the the job done. It may not always be perfect, but eventually you do get it to where you both are happy with the improvements. Looks warm down there. We hit -38F yesterday. Though it warmed up to a tolerable -20F by the afternoon. Today is a heatwave. It's up to -17F. We went from early spring like temps back to Artic like temps in a matter of a day or two. So, enjoy that Florida winter weather. Cheers! Carey On!

@@mickylawless1941 Stay warm and safe! Our family in Montana are keeping us posted. Brutal! Especially dealing with livestock. Our family on the Oregon coast got hit really hard with freezing rain. Trees down everywhere. No power for a Few days and almost all Roads in their county shut down. Feeling a mix of blessed and guilt.

@@CareyOnVagabond Livestock in this weather is a big challenge. But freezing rain in Oregon? NO THANK YOU! I do hope everyone in Oregon and Montana are safe and warm? Yesterday was the truly rough day. Nicole had to go to work, but I stayed home with the cat on my lap keeping me warm. Carey On!

After watching your first video about using the Mopeka sensor on your propane tanks, I did a little extra research and bought Mopeka sensors for my fresh water tank; grey water tank and diesel heater fuel tank in my ambo conversion. I like how they can be read by my Victron display as well as on my phone. Don’t have everything hooked up yet but I think it will work well. Thanks for an informative video.

So Dave are the fasteners different thread types and lengths or do they insert into different materials? If not you might be able to swap them so they all have the same drive type.
@CareyOnVagabond11 ай бұрын
We do plan on swapping them out, we just didn’t have any on hand. Gotta do it though so it’s easier for next time!

Yes it is. I got pretty good at it. We had the camper in storage and the truck at home so I did it quite at bit.😬
@mofoq11 ай бұрын
this is what happens when Pistol isn't around to supervise 🤣 thought you'd swap out the screws and homogenize them when you were down there 🤔 wonder how long does the battery on the sensor itself last? or is it self-charging? 🤔🤔
@CareyOnVagabond11 ай бұрын
Haha yes! We needed our canine foreman on the job! We will pan to swap out the screws the next time we’re under there, we didn’t have any on hand and didn’t want to leave it open under there while we went to get some. It will definitely make it easier to open that up for the next time! We’ll find out how long the battery lasts, I would suspect a couple years. The key is to close the app out each time so hopefully we can remember to do that! 🤞🏼🤞🏼

Great segway into next week! Here I am 😮 trying to tell you that is the gray tank...... How long do the batteries last? It'll be challenging to change them; glad to know, turn off app! Explains why our LP went dead. I would suggest cutting an access hole and duct taping it for future access.🤔 Found this on our mfg. brochure: TANK Capacities: Fresh - 38 gal (320#) Gray - 32 gal. (266#) Black - 18. (150#)
@CareyOnVagabond11 ай бұрын
Thanks! I suspect the battery will last quite a while. Our propane sensor has lasted liver a year so far. An access panel would be good idea. If it’s mounted near the side like I did, you can remove the screws on that side and access it fairly easy without removing the whole panel. We’ll see🤷♂️😁
@EarthRoamingAdventures11 ай бұрын
A pain to change the battery in that when needed. I would be more worried about no heater on the water tanks😢
@CareyOnVagabond11 ай бұрын
Not as bad as it looks. 6 screws to lower one side of the panel to change the battery every year or two. And our Aldi heating system is awesome. No worries about cold weather 😉

Hi Guys!!! From frigid Ontario Canada. Brrrr. Dave - do you think these sensors would work if exposed to the road elements? I’m not sure my Roadtrek has an underbelly protective layer of any kind. Strangely tho mechanics who go under there love it because it look like new at 40,000 kms. The existing tank monitors are next to useless and always frustrate me. Any chance of Eastern Canada in May’ish’?
